DSquared2 is a label that offers us extravagancy not only in their outfits but in ad pics too. The Autumn-winter 2009-2010 ad campaign is a proof to my words.
Keeping that in mind we are not surprised they chose a fabulous Dutch model Lara Stone to be the face of the campaign.

The photoshoot was made by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and is really great. The photos for Fall 2009 feature the so-called glitz and glam of three young men and a young woman out and about at night. High contrast of black and white was chosen intentionally to show glamour and decadence all together.

Oxford Street in London is known as the world’s most famous shopping street. And soon it is going to be famous for one more thing – the first high street fashion week will be held there.
Leading retailers including Debenhams, Uniqlo, John Lewis and Topman have already signed on for the event and talks are in progress with other major household names such as Selfridges, Topshop, Marks & Spencer and Miss Selfridge.

The event is planned to start on Monday, September 7th. But before that there is a lot to do.
In August, Oxford Street shoppers will be asked to vote for the celebrity they like best to choose a “High Street Queen”. The winner will play an important part in the fashion week.
Among other events we can name workshops, fashion shows, makeovers, late-night shopping and in-store promotions.

Justin Timberlake says he likes women wearing feminine clothes.

The women in Los Angeles dress like boys. Here in London, you see a lot more of that tailored, sharp look that New York women have.”
Trace Ayala, his William Rast design partner, added:
He’s right. British girls dress pretty sharp - in America people tend to wear their clothes looser.”
The ‘SexyBack’ singer, whose new collection was launched in London store Selfridges on June 29th, says he prefers a smarter look and doesn’t like it when ladies wear loose, casual clothing.
Besides, he reveals he dislikes an unnatural look:
Spray tans are the worst and women in velour trousers.”

Michael Kors Fall-Winter ad campaign with Carmen Kass and Noah Mills is pretty unusual. It was shot in New York City and is intended to reflect the urban nature of the season.
The photographer involved into the work is Mario Testino. He made a good shot of Kass and Mills entering and leaving a Broadway theater.

The place wasn’t chosen accidentally. It is the designer’s love to theatre and everything related to it that determined the spot.
Michael is an avid fan of the theater and has been attending Broadway shows since the tender age of five,” said a spokesman.
The ads will be published in the August issues of American, British, Russian and Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and W.
This ad campaign is very different form Michael Kors’s other campaigns made on private jets, chauffeured cars and yachts around the globe. It’s simple but attractive. I like it, at least for the absence of nude bodies.

Everyone knows that women from Asian countries dress differently from the way we do. They have to wear long, sometimes floor-sweeping, body-covering black robes called abayas to cover their clothing in public.
Nowadays few of them want to wear one and the same design of abaya all the time. To solve the problem a few international designers decided to try themselves in this, earlier unknown for them, sphere of creation.
It was the process of constant learning of Islamic traditions, customs and fashion tendencies. It was not easy. But the result is fantastic. Abayas made by designers were chic and sophisticated, adorned with rhinestones and made of luxury materials. These new styles of abayas were intended for rich Muslim women who wanted to stand out of the crowd and always look fabulous.

The Saks Fifth Avenue Riyadh and Jeddah fashion show was held in George V Hotel in Paris. It was opened by a horsewoman in a flowing, made-to-measure Islamic gown atop a snorting steed rearing on its hind legs. The spectacle was great.

Then followed the show of 22 abayas customized by international designers specially invited for that. Among the attendees were Saudi Arabian royal family, participating designers Felipe Oliveria Baptista, Adam Jones, Anne Valérie Hash and Martine Sitbon.
Designers who used their talents to work on the terrific abayas, which are required in Saudi Arabia, included Christian Dior’s artistic director John Galliano, French luxury labels Nina Ricci and Jean Claude Jitrois and Italian houses Blumarine and Alberta Feretti.

There were lots of rumors about Lily Allen and the fact she was going to become the face of new Chanel bag collection. And now we know for sure that this is absolutely true and the British songbird will represent the world famous brand.
The new Chanel ad campaign is set to be released in October 2009 with Miss Allen looking like a princess.

Lily has been chosen by Karl Lagerfeld because “She’s fun.”
Chanel has always picked only the best and thus Lily might be feeling very privileged as her name is included into the list that already has big names like Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tatou, Kiera Knightley, and Kate Moss.

Christopher Kane has been creating a great collection for Topshop Fall 2009.

Why I say great? Because everything is so secret about it that it just cannot be bad, Topshop can’t disappoint us!
We don’t know much about the line actually. But some things have been revealed.
The collection is going to be the biggest ever for Topshop. It includes 39 pieces (with shoes and bags) and is to be launched this September. The prices will range from around $80 to $300.
This is more than a capsule collection. It’s proper: with bags, shoes, knitwear and dresses. It’s nothing like any other work I’ve done in the past. Everything is a bit “wow”. But If I tell you any more, I’ll be giving the theme away,” Christopher said.
Can’t wait to see what it’s like!

Everybody tells me Anne Hathaway has turned into a fashion stylist. I wondered how it could be and then I found out the story. Pretty interesting I must say.
The whole glam world now speaks about it.

It began very ordinarily. The 26-year-old actress offered Julie White, her co-star in New York play ‘Twelfth Night’, to wear one of her own dresses for the recent Los Angeles premiere of Julie’s new movie ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’.
Julie was surprised and had to think a bit before she agreed.
Julie tells the New York Daily News:
I had my dress picked out for the premiere, and the night before Anne came in with kind of a wadded-up-looking black bag that you get from the deli. Inside of it was this gorgeous Marchesa dress. She’s like, ‘Julie, I think you should wear this.’ I’m not kidding. That’s how good a girl she is.”
Julie finally opted for the dress Anne had brought to her and never regretted her decision as she looked perfect at the premiere.
She said:
Anne was absolutely right. She has brilliant taste. It looks perfect!”
