Celebrity designed bags for cancer charity
In our time a charity auction draw celebrities and fashion moguls and it’s of course nothing new.
Many men may gibe at the modest man-bag for being too womanly.
But a cancer charity auction is anticipated to press the handbags into the mainstream when it auctions off 40 man-hangbags designed by celebrities.
UK-based organization The Prostate Cancer Charity has volunteered the help of a range of celebrities, from Coldplay, Ricky Gervais, Alan Carr, Jade Jagger, Twiggy, Ben Shephard, Depeche Mode, Tom Baker, to designer Jimmy Choo.
Each man messenger bag has been either hand-drawn, painted, or stitched by the celebrity making each one unique and absolutely original.
The celebrity creations will be auctioned on eBay on June 24 with all proceeds going to the charity.
Bain Ellisdon, founder of manbagcompany.com, who supplied the bags, hopes the auction will change the perception of man-bags.

She told the Evening Standard:
People still think of those awful little French clutch bags with a loop around the wrist that many European men used to carry.
But the man-bag has moved on so much since then.’
