Jewelry trends for winter 2008-2009

There are just a few days left until winter comes, but we haven’t told you about those nice little things (though they are not going to be so little this time) that will help you make this cold and dull season brighter.

Of course I’m talking about jewelry.

Here are some of the jewelry trends that will create a fashionable look:

Colors. It’s not a secret that pastels are traditional spring and summer colors but this season feel free to wear your favorite jewelry of these tints: light lavenders, pinks, and white. Either on their own or combined with deeper hues, the pastels will add a feminine touch to any outfit.

However, there are new ideas that will make you look more impressive and colorful in winter monochromaticity. All you really need to know is dark and warm.

Rich yellow and warm orange are getting a lot of fascination. The simulated canary diamond, citrine, yellow zircon, yellow sapphire and Brazilian topazes are amongst the winter hot favorites.

Blue has also been declared as one of the winter colors making aquamarine and blue topaz winter must haves.

Black is the color that never goes out of the fashion as black onyx and simulated black diamond.

The popularity of this timeless neutral is connected to the fact that it can go with absolutely any attire, and it is a classic and sophistication.

And don’t forget about deep dark chocolate browns and warm ivories that are added to the winter palette.

Plenty of Metals: Silver is always a perfect choice for the winter months just because it looks so well with the formal black and white themes that are inevitably seen at formal events. But this year gold is more popular than usual, especially with larger dark stones.

Besides these traditional metals this season we see lots of copper and hematite. They are represented in various shapes: octagons, squares, ovals, circles, hoops and asymmetrical geometric and organic shapes.

Besides jewelry made of one metal totally there are some of combined materials.

Big and Bold Stones: The trend of big jewelry is still with us! Go for large pendants, beads and chunky and eye-catching pieces.

While a few years ago you might see women wearing four or five smaller bracelets, the trend this winter will be towards wearing one larger bracelet that is embellished with gems or semi-precious stones.

Everything that is unique and big is very popular this winter with almost every age!

Natural Style: Nature’s colors, textures, and materials inspire the jewelry looks of the forthcoming winter.

Sky blue, sea green, earthy brown and sand tones, and a vivid range of semiprecious stones and shells, including turquoise, agate, and jade, make the trendy silhouettes popular this season.

Beads made of glass, coco, wood and even bone are bringing earthy styles back into focus in a stylized way.

Blu Exotic Wood Bangle

This season’s jewelry fashion looks pretty interesting with those large gem stones, variety of metals and styles.

Nevertheless, fashion is always subjective, so feel free to wear whatever you’re comfortable with, but also be willing to give something new a try.
