Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t have to worry about finances so he can use his creative force to design something really unique and really pricey, like this collar with black diamonds.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Unique Collar
Designed for a jewellery exhibition curated by Vogue jewellery editor Carol Woolton, the collar is made of metallic leather and features 40 carats of black diamonds and a ‘22.33-carat emerald centerpiece set in black rhodium-plated silver’. The price for this amazing thing is £29,000 ($45,395).
Karl Lagerfeld, who designed the precious accessories, said:
I’m renowned for my love of a high collar and I wanted to create a true collector’s item with this one-off piece. Merging the masculine with the feminine and uniting the world of fine jewellery and high fashion, to me this collar is a work of art and a real show-stopper.”
The exhibition, named Brilliant, will be held as part of the Masterpiece London Fair in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year at the Royal Hospital from June 28 until July 27.
