Piggy Wears Jewellery in Vogue Russia September 2010

The Russians are funny people. Instead of using a pretty girl for pictures in Vogue Russia September 2010 issue they chose a small pig to wear the precious pieces. And the jewellery was precious, with no cheap beads or such like. Only diamonds, sapphires, rubies and other gemstones that cost a fortune.

Probably the idea was to draw more attention to Vogue Russia September 2010 editorial but we don’t really like this approach. Glamorous piggy with mascara on its lashes and nail polish on hoofs looks funny but at the same time it seems ridiculous to demonstrate expensive jewellery on an animal.

   I don’t think you really get it! Its not ridiculous it is making a comment about fashion in general! Look at the pigs poses, on a women they would be sexually provocative, the eyes have been retouched to give them a more human appearance. Together this can be interpreted in a number of ways, either the jewellery is so good it can anyone look great, or that the fashion industry has become too obsessed with a models appearance and not the clothes that she is currently modelling.
