Dior Cruise 2014 show runway

Dior Cruise 2014 show that was held in Monaco on Saturday in Promenade Casiraghi, Monte Carlo gathered celebs like Marion Cotillard, Jessica Biel and Zhang Ziyi in its front row, which also included Princess Charlene clad in Dior. Although most of the celebrity guests were wearing the brand’s clothes from various collections.

Jessica Biel opted for a Fall 2013 dress, while Zhang Ziyi and Marion Cotillard opted for outfits from Pre-Fall 2013 line. Among other guests there were Liv Tyler, Ahna O’Reilly, and Ruth Wilson.

The show itself revealed the new collection of garments, not as structural as in previous collection but closer to the Spring 2013 one. There are dresses worn over skirts and crop tops, lots of sheer pieces, assymetrical hemlines, and men’s style wide leg trousers.

There are suits with peplum-like silhouettes and non-typical lantern-like sleeves. There are lots of bandeau tops and retro-style pants that are paired with sheer dresses and there are coats and trenches in caracul and even lace.

The style of the collection is quite modern and even a bit futuristic although there are some classic items in the collection as well. Accessories added bright accents to outfits. There were ombre clutches and bags as well as color block bags.

The shoes were gorgeous and interesting as usual. This time the heel is slightly curved as if it bent under the weight. They also come in different colors and materials. There is lacquered leather piping, colorful suede and textured leather.

Huge aviator-like sunglasses completed the sporty looks or added sporty feel to lightweight sheer dresses. Coloful and metallic cuffs and structural necklaces completed the accessory range and added that feel to the more relaxed looks that Simmons’ more structural items have.

Etro Resort 2014 lookbook

Etro has a habit of creating bright, however, small collections in-between seasons. But that certainly does not lessen their impact. Just take a look at the brand’s Resort 2014 line. There are seven looks consisting of bright printed blazers and a couple of dresses are not only cruise-appropriate but also stylish. The focus of the collection is on prints and cut.

As usual, you can see the brand’s love of prints and color in this collection. Cut is also a thing here, as there are long blazers, kimono-style coat, and flared pants in the line.

The first outfit of the collection is a dress in sunset hues of purple, red and peach. Printed with florals, this is a great item for the daily wear – casual and more formal. It is styled with a cuff, flat sandals and a thin belt but, we imagine, there are many more styling options.

The second look features basic black trousers, a printed top and a long bright blazer with same floral print as in the first dress and cool monochromatic shoulders. This blazer can jazz up any basic look.

Other items to add color and style to your office outfit are a light printed monochrome coat with sleeves in different colors or a kimono-like printed coat with 3/4 sleeves.

Second dress is printed and monochromatic. It has the same cut as the first one and is styled with strappy shoes and a wide belt.

The last two looks consist of flared pants and statement blazers. Printed items are combined with ones in solid colors making for perfectly balanced looks. Besides printed elements there are a few basic styles, like black trousers, white and black tops and mint skirt in classic style with a side slit.

The time for resort and cruise collections is here so we can take a sneak peek into what’s hot for the upcoming seasons. Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2014 collection consists of twenty looks decorated with lace, bows, and prints; loafers and brogues with woven-raffia elements and new handbags.

This collection keeps a nice balance between dressy and casual. There are light dresses that can be worn to cocktail parties and there are some items that are just right for walks at the beach. Then there are men’s style brogues and loafers that add sharp touch to the looks and can be worn to the office.

There are also some short ensembles for the hot summer days and some thin sweaters that can be thrown over dresses for the windier summer evenings. Crochet and lace elements can also be seen in some of the dresses and tops. There is also a printed a bodysuit in the collection paired with a light two-toned sweater.

The footwear also includes two-toned kitten heels in Oxford style and prints. Handbags come in different sizes and colors. There are small chain handle bags as well as the big ones in classic shapes that are great for sprucing up casual summer looks. The latter ones can accommodate a good part of your cruise wardrobe too.

Fringe is another key element of the collection. There is short and long fringe and it adds that 20′s flair to the dresses. Also the printed frocks are painted with black and red swatches, which make for interesting looks.

Chanel Cruise 2014 Fashion Show in Singapore

Karl Lagerfeld set the 2014 Chanel Cruise catwalk show in Singapore on May 9. It was one of the most modest Chanel shows comparing to the previous ones. This show was held in the ancient British army barracks, which allowed best portraying the low-key aesthetic. These barracks significantly differed from previous locations that we used to see in the Chanel’s 2013 Versailles resort show and the latest Fall 2013 show, which oozed excessive luxury and chic.

As we could expect, the size of the show was quite small when comparing to the standard Chanel shows. There were a few seating rows in the subdued-looking barrack, which were adorned with paint peeling on the walls. As for the garments, they seemed to be as chic as usual since Chanel is synonym for luxury and elegance, however with subdued allure.

Lagerfeld told:

I like the idea that it’s not impeccable. There’s a romantic charm that new things cannot always have. It’s not [just] about the historical details, but also the mood.

Color shades were limited to the classy black and white hues diluted with light pastel accents, so the brightest color in the show were the models’ eyes accentuated with turquoise eye liner. Collection featured evening-appropriate outfits and cricket-inspired garments in the monochromatic palette with pastel touches.

Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel, is renowned for staging his striking fashion shows for Resort and Cruise collection in the exotic locales like Versailles and Scottish castle. This time he decided to conquer the world’s richest city and opted for Singapore according to the Wall Street Journal.

This is a highly important event for the fashion industry of Singapore, since it is the first time an upscale fashion label decides to have the global launch of the collection here. This way Singapore will reinforce its position among the leading fashion capitals of the world.

New Girly Red Valentino Pre-Collection for Spring/Summer 2013

Are you ready for some awesome romantic infusion from the famous brand RED Valentino, which has recently released a new cute pre-collection for Spring/Summer 2013 season, full of inspiration floral pieces and prints!

While most of the pieces are really screaming of playful girliness, which RED Valentino displays through fancy dresses, skirts, blouses and trench coats – the true spirit of the collection lies in its color choice. Because all of them are united with cute and sweet color schemes: pink, green and occasional red, with some highlighting black trims and polka dots.

The collection is full of bows, floral prints, roses, pink and black combinations. Each of themes in the collection has its own unique title. It is interesting to note, that RED Valentino Spring/Summer 2013 pre-collection offers surprising range of different length in their pieces, from cute miniskirts to conservative ankle-length dresses, which by the way are quite transparent. Stella McCartney Resort 2013 collection is bright and pretty. It is perfect for Spring as it oozes freshness and vibrance of the warm season. Filled with bright colors and prints the collection features feminine elegant silhouettes and chic fabrics.

Color palette of the collection ranges from neutral white and cream to bright yellow, pink and orange and orange. There is also black, light blue, caramel and coral. The prints include florals, leopard, and plaid.

Silhouettes are sleek and elegant featuring bell bottoms, blazers, and knee-length skirts. But there are also oversize pieces. One of the biggest trends of Fall/Winter 2012 echoes in McCartney’s Resort 2013 collection.

Balmain Resort 2013 collection is beautiful and creative. Mixed monochromatic prints and pastel colors go well together and make for interesting outfits. The collection consists of tailored trousers, skinny pants, blazers, short dresses, tops and blouses.

Loose-fitting trousers are balanced out with strict blazers with padded shoulders while monochromatic prints are mixed with pastels to create an interesting look. Monochromatic tops here are paired with the pale yellow and mint trousers which looks stylish and very spring-like.

There are, of course, some leather pieces in the collection including shorts, romper, shirt, dress and skirt. These fit well into the monochromatic part of the collection. The leather dress comes with a full skirt and a corset-like bustier accentuated with a belt.

Another stand out dress is the one in mixed prints with 3/4 sleeves in black, white, mint and pastel pink. The diamond, stripe adn other prints are enhanced with a floral detail on front of the dress.

The silhouettes are sleek and exquisite. The elegant suits are detailed with waist belts that are worn even over the blazer. Most of them are pant suits but there is also a dress suit in polka big dot pattern that is also shown with same-style blazer. The blazers feature padded shoulders and pointed lapels.

The gowns are beautiful and streamline. These along with other similar prom dresses will be a hit at high school dances this year. There also a halter neck dress with silver and gold diamond-shaped pattern, a layered mullet dress and a strapless bright orange maxi dress. Speaking about the collection itself I can say it looks very beautiful. Dresses come in at least three different styles. There are delicate lace cocktail and evening dresses, sumptuous red-carpet-ready floor-length gowns decorated with embroidery and crystals, and Grecian-style gowns in chic shining fabrics with elaborate neck details.

It was a little surprising to see so much pink in Versace Resort/ Pre-Spring 2013 collection but Donatella used it right. She either blended it with other colors or applied prints to avoid being too girlie. However, she did make one of the pant suits pop with color! Other colors in the range include: black, pale yellow and white.

Prints were very unusual in Donatella Versace’s Resort/ Pre-Spring 2013 collection. The designer mixed everything: arrows, flowers, letters, musical instrumenst, paisley… But it looked really good!
