Stripes can look fabulous or horrible, everything depends on how you wear them.
This post will give some style advice on how to look perfect in stripes and find ones which flatter you rather than make you look scruffy.
Betsey Johnson – Stripes Zippers Cardigan (Black) – Apparel

Colorful or monochrome stripes?
It depends on your taste and personal style. But simple stripes have always been the most elegant and it’s easy to match them with other items.
Liz Golf – Ribbed Stripe Turtleneck (Cream/Overcast Heather) – Apparel

Black and white stripes are classic and fashionable.
If you prefer red, pink or yellow stripes, be careful as you can dress tastelessly.
Three Dots – Thermal Stripe L/S Crewneck (Raindrop) – Apparel

Who can wear stripes?
Everybody can wear stripes. All depends on the style chosen and the mood of a person.
- If you feel light-hearted and easy, choose colorful and wide stripes.
- If you prefer urban style, opt for elegant thin stripes. They will always look good.
Stripes can be very tricky and your figure might look fabulous.

Lanvin Spring/Summer 2010 collection is super-chic and super-innovative. Alber Elbaz was able to surprise us again.

The collection was presented at Paris Fashion week and includes lots of fabulous dresses, with frills and flounces, coming in black, red and pink colors. Luxury but simple designs were soon substituted with sumptuous drapery and layers.

Fabrics looked rich: leather, poliester, chiffon, satin, organza, etc. When combined together they made the outfits unforgettable.
Leather dresses were absolutely impressive. I imagine how much work was needed to make those beautiful layers and knots. Lots of outfits were embellished with gemstones and sequins adding glamour and femininity.

Accessory line was amazing. The first thing that attracted my attention was the size and number of jewelry piece each model was wearing.
Lots of massive stones, interlacing chains and metallic details were on girls’ necks.

With the winter holidays so close we all rush to purchase something really wonderful to outshine every other woman at the party. And designers and brands are ready to help us offering a huge variety of choices, mostly dresses, to every taste.

Some are long, chic and elegant, while others are super-short, sparkling and sexy. Armani Exchange Holiday 2009 Collection suggests you trying the latter type, that is hot and appealing.

As ad campaign pictures show us the dresses are absolutely impressive and you’ll certainly be the center of attention.

Models featured at the photos are Rianne Ten Haken and Kerry Degman.

Alexandre Herchcovitch is a designer who has his own special view of fashion. For his Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which was at New York Fashion Week, he chose the theme of football but actually the outfits reminded me nothing about this game, maybe because I don’t really like it and never watch it either.

Fashionably speaking the clothes were eccentric and mostly unwearable in normal life situations. But those girls who never consider what other people think about them might want to try these. I’m obviously not the one of those.

The designer likes zippers and bold mix of colors which we see in plenty in the line. However, nude hues are also widely presented.

Glam events are important for us to see what celebrities like about fashion. While desigers offer a great variety of styles and trends, celebs show exactlly what looks good.
Now let’s speak about fashion and style of AMA 2009 attendees. By the way, the event was held at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre yesterday (November 22).

My top pick is of course Rihanna in a strapless Marchesa gown with sexy floral cut-outs. The dress is truly special. It comes in an unusual shape and is black outside while being white on the inside. Fabulous white shoes and simple jewelry completed the attire.
What also deserves your attention here is Rihanna’s makeup. I think it’s crazy, not inspiring as the star might have hoped.

I love Versace and that’s why Shakira and her bright yellow strapless mini is the second on my list. Gorgeous figure plus absolutely marvellous frock and accessories make the 32-year-old beauty one of the best-looking on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys is the third with a hot blue dress embellished with gemstones.
She opted for beautiful blue shoes of the same hue, a tiny clutch and a set of sparkling jewelry to match the apparel.

Vivienne Westwood’s fan, Leona Lewis, comes next.
The dress she wore to the event was very like in style of the designer – royal luxury mixed with eccentric form in addition to simplicity of the idea. Robert Anthony ring fought for the attention of its own.

The photoshhot in Dazed&Confused November 2009 Issue features gorgeous Katlin Aas as a woman of Tudor epoch – cold but fabulous.

What is interesting about the shoot is that only modern designer clothing is used to create the images. Some outfits look like those which were really worn at that time, others are a bit out of harmony but still close to the idea.

Stylist Kate Shillingford was able to understand what women of Tutor era were like, how they looked like, what they felt and thought.
Photographer William Selden created the perfect illumination and found the right angle to make the pictures more similar to the paintings we have depicting the Tudor time.

You already know that Prada has launched a fashion book that illustrates the development of the brand and fashion as a whole within a period of over 30 years.
The party dedicated to the book was organised a few days ago (November, 13 ). Lots of A-list celebrities attended it and as usual women tried to see each other but better to show off themselves.
Here you can see the most glamorous outfits ladies wore to the event.
See and enjoy!

I think these two girls deserve to be the first on my list, not because they were the best-looking but because they really stole the attention.
They are Chloe Sevigny and Zoe Saldana.
Both chose Miu Miu dresses from Fall-Winter 2009/2010 collection with deep decolletes that exposed their lingerie and midriffs.
Zoe looked bright and bold while Chloe was more feminine with her light-pink sequin dress.

Christina Ricci and Ginnifer Goodwin opted for prom-style frocks made of satin and embellished with corsages.
Christina looked delicate and sophisticated in her light blue dress paired with fabulous stilettoes and a black clutch.
Ginnifer was the cutest at the party in her white dress, dark-purple open-toe shoes and a black clutch.

Jessica Alba worn a dark-blue velvet dress with a V-neck and looked perfectly slim.
Jessica Biel was in a black Twenties-inspired dress from Prada’s pre-fall collection decorated with fringing and pearls. The woman looked fresh and happy as if she had been on a long vacation.

Vera Wang is a designer who likes femininity and simplicity combined. And this idea is fully embodied in her Spring/Summer 2010 collection at New York Fashion week.

Pretty dersses made of light and often sheer fabrics (mostly chiffon) were the center of the line. All of coctail length they looked very womanly but without too luxe.
Embroidery and occasional gemstones adorned the frocks much. The dress I liked the most is the black one with flower-detail attached in abundance. A very glamourous piece!

The designer included lots of shorts into the range adding to the comfort of the wearer. Shorts were easily paired with blouses, basketball tees, an organza skirt combo, a metallic gauze halter tank and even a poufy ballerina skirt.

Slouchy leggings were nice to look at, too. Combined with a cascading top they looked fabulous.

These pictures for Black Book November 2009 impressed me with the wild expression on the model’s face. Julia Shvets, a Belarussian model, is an Amazonian, barefooted, with huge frizzy hair, forced to hunt to survive.

She isn’t like many of modern girls – feminine and fragile; she is strong, dexterous and dangerous…
Julia is wearing furs, natural material of woods. She is all natural, similar to first women on the planet who knew no civilazation or science, and of course fashion wasn’t the most important thing at that time.

Zara Fall-Winter 2009/2010 collection is very different from all couture ones we’ve seen recently.
It is simple and wearable. All the pieces are easily combined with each other and will become nice additions to any wardrobe.

Blouses are beautiful with no frills or any other detailing.
They can go well both with skirts and trousers. A blouse with peaked shoulders is the only one I don’t like. It looks odd.

I like jackets and coats much, especially those made of fur. They look chic.

Warm sweaters and cardigans are perfect for winter cold.
Just don one of those and nothing will make you feel uncomfortable in winter time.
