Rosie Tupper is new for our site. Fresh faces are always good. We gradually get tired of seeing the same girls again and again.
Rosie looks pretty and very natural in the photo shoot for Vogue Australia April 2010 issue. She is feminine and young, eyes are big and expressive – that is exactly what is necessary to become a model in a glossy.
Although the girl looks good the shoot isn’t the best I’ve seen. It’s boring. Only dull colors and no action.
Prada is a recognized classic. The pieces the brand creates are always chic and sophisticated and what is even better they look great on women of different ages.
The collection for Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 unveiled during Milan Fashion Weeks features beautiful items that would be perfect for various occasions. Dresses are luxurious and glamorous as well as trenches and coats.
Collection is obviously inspired by last-century fashion tendencies that are presented with a modern twist. Miuccia Prada says it’s classics that she was aiming at.
She said:
It’s normal clothes. Classics. Revising the things I did in the nineties.”
Ruffles, high waists, wide skirts, upstanding pointy-bra formations and other details in the range remind us that retro fashion is always a win. Hair done up in sixties beehives just add to the feeling of being trapped in the chic of the past.
The group of models strutting the runway included big names in modelling, such as Doutzen Kroes, Catherine McNeil, Lara Stone, and Miranda Kerr – young women who embody femininity and beauty.
Colors are important. They say a lot about the personality of the wearer, determine her status, age and interests. Besides, they create visual illusions to help the girl to improve the look of her shape: become slimmer, taller, etc.
To always be fashionable one should choose tones designers suggest in their collections. But when opting for a particular color she needs to be careful and find hues that look good on her.
The color trends for the current season are the following:
White. This color is the best for warm seasons and it looks feminine and elegant. White comes in any kind of pieces, from dresses to socks and even headwear.
Coral. Coral looks unusual and trendy. It can be a bit difficult to choose accessories for garments of this tint but if you succeed the entire look will be fantastic.
Neon green. Very unexpected but truly youthful color. It looks great on young girls and immediately attracts attention.
Peppermint. If neon green looks perfect on women in their 20s, peppermint green will flatter ladies that are older. It is classy and chic.
Doing sports is great and we have written about it already. It makes you slim, fit and strong and also confident as you feel better, too. Maybe this was the idea of the photo shoot for Italian VogueMarch 2010 issue with Natasha Poly exercising.
The model is featured playing tennis, running, jumping and doing lots of other energetic things. She looks wonderful as any other girl that tries to keep fit.
Speaking fashionably, I can say that being sporty can be close to being stylish. Just look how designer pieces look on the model. I agree that some of those are not for sports but others will be perfect for training.
The collection created by Stefano Pilati for Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 looked like it had been inspired by religious motives though the designer himself denied this fact. But everyone who saw the range at Paris Fashion Week would tell that sober caped black forms, wimplelike head coverings, starched white cotton, hoods, and heavy chain pendants – all gave a nunlike impression.
The oufits were unusual for a catwalk show. High white dog collar on a suit, the yoked white blouse with full sleeves, the prim and modest mid-calf dresses looked like being typical for a Catholic convent. Even when a sheer black dress appeared it came with underwear formed as a cruciform bodysuit.
Platic covers put over some of the garments were intended for protection. Stefani Pilati explained:
It’s about protection. And partly, an homage to YSL and the rigorous tailleur.”
And the angel-like figures dangling on the gold chains wear inspired by silhouettes of Saint Laurent fashion photos Pilati had cut out of seventies magazines.
The collection as a whole looked good and some of the outfits would look great even in the office. Shoes were perfect and featured extremely high heels and platforms.
Sometimes we all get tired of those beautiful sexy girls and pictures of fairy tales we see in magazines every month. The March 2010 issue of Italian Vogue is not like that at all. It features gorgeous Lara Stone who looks indifferent and scared rather than sexy.
Grim forests with terrifying trees and plants, strange wings, wolves and spiders are cleverly projected on a dark wall creating shadowy illusions that would make everybody frightened.
Lara looks good even in this place. She wears perfect designer clothing and reminds us of a princess confined in a gloomy tower.
With the death of this super-talented designer everything has changed. The show he had planned wasn’t appropriate to present. Instead a quiet and very private show was organized in a gilded salon at the headquarters of Francois Pinault. Only very close people were invited.
Alexander McQueen Chief Executive Jonathan Akeroyd explained the decision to cancel the original catwalk show in favour of private presentations:
He very much had a vision for his show concept, but it didn’t feel right to do that without him. We decided this was the best way to do it in a very low profile environment – the most appropriate way in light of what has happened.”
The Independent’s Susannah Frankel added:
This was a heartbreakingly beautiful and perfectly judged tribute to one of the greatest talents the fashion industry has known, realised by a tightly knit and gifted group of people who have protected his name and what it stands for since he started out.”
The collection included 16 outfits inspired by Byzantine art and Old Masters paintings as well as wood carving and sculpture of Grinling Gibbons. Models walked slowly and solemnly to haunting operatic music. And some guests couldn’t fight back their tears.
Talking about how the collection was created Sarah Burton, McQueen’s right hand, said the designer had turned away from the world of the Internet, which he had so powerfully harnessed in his last show.
Beyonce looks gorgeous on House of Dereon Spring/ Summer 2010 adverts, though she seems to be hugely photoshopped. Anyway, I like the photos very much.
The music star models perfect outfits that flatter her curvy figure a lot. The bright pink dress is fabulous! And the vibrant green headpiece looks great, too!
At the Oscarsstars tried to look as glamorous as possible wearing long sumptuous dresses, expensive jewelry and accessories. For 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar party held at Sunset Tower on Sunday (March 7) they went more modest and unpretentious though outfits still looked chic.
Kate Beckinsale looked gorgeous in a shimmering assymetrical dress complimented by Neil Lane diamond earrings and a large gold diamond platinum cocktail ring.
Katy Perry returned to her glamorous side. The I Kissed a Girl singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a perfect Zuhair Murad gown, H. Stern jewels, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.
Kristen Stewart did her best to look good but dresses definitely don’t fit her. the young actress sported a midnight blue strapless dress by Monique L’Hullier.
Natalie Portman looked beautiful in her short metallic Lanvin dress, Tiffany jewels and Aldoshoes.
Dame Westwood wouldn’t be she if she created something that was ordinary. She is always very extravagant and her works make us feel surprised every season.
For Paris Fashion week the designer focused on the bluestocking young lady and footpad theme. Extremely colorful and unusual outfits were modelled on the show with girls sometimes looking funny and playful and in other times strict and even threatening.
Although garments seemed to have been made from old fabrics and worn-earlier clothes we know that each piece was actually the result of Westwood’s creation, an elaborate piece that costs lots of money.
Plenty of knee-length dresses looked pretty and eccentric but some were definitely wearable. There were lots of prints of any kind, from flowers to stars and even crowns. By the way, some models wore crowns on their heads – flamboyant and huge, adding an ironic touch to the collection.
When we say “stylish” we actually mean “well-dressed”. How many modern stars can we call stylish?
Lots. But who of them are style icons? The question is difficult to answer as almost none of them can be compared to Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Sophia Loren or Audrey Hepburn in their ability to combine garments keeping the same style all the time.
Though skinny jeans look great doctors say they can be dangerous for our health. According to some experts tight jeans might cause a nerve problem called meralgia paresthetica.
Together with high stilettos skinny jeans put great pressure on the femoral cutaneous nerve that runs through the thigh. As a result ladies often feel tingling and burning through the leg.
All that big-breast mania we have now is a complete nonsense! No matter what your bra size is, your bust can look nice if you know how to “wear” it.
And many men like girls with chest much smaller than Pamela Anderson’s! Besides, the majority of designers create their garments for ladies with smaller busts.
