These are three of the main trends we can expect in beach-going fashion in 2012. It seems that every season we have a new fashion revival – from the 1970s of spring/summer 2011 to the 1950s of autumn/winter 2010-11. There is always a new decade to be reinvented and this season the 1920s are making a comeback.

Flapper dress

If there is one look that characterises the decade it has to be the flapper look. It became popular around 1926 and was defined by shorter hemlines (to just above the knee in fact but was a revolution in its day), loose skirts, boxy silhouettes and a flattened chest.

The hoodie has always been the old stand-by in any man’s winter wardrobe.
