Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 Couture
Being a fan of extravagant chic I expected something very extraordinary from Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 Couture collection. But my hopes were just partially justified.

The collection as a whole looked rather gloomy with colors like black and brown prevailing. However, a few splashes of neon green, hot pink, blood red and bright purple diluted the dark palette.

Outfits came in unusual structural shapes. Trenches, which are Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature pieces, became the focus of attention. They had oversized sleeves in Dolce&Gabbana style and fur trimming. Glamorous dresses and jumpsuits added femininity to the Fall 2010 Couture collection.

Headpieces looked interesting but not as funky as Chritian Dior’s flower wraps on models’ heads. But they did transform the outfits. Without them the range wouldn’t look like Jean Paul Gaultier’s at all.

To protote his new collaboration with La Perla Jean Paul Gaultier sent gorgeous Dita Von Teese down the runway, too. The Burlesque dancer appeared sporting a black cutaway dress that soon was removed and the only things that remained on Dita were suspenders and a revealing backstitch corset. It was the climax of the fashion show representing Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 Couture collection.
