Now John Galliano is a social outcast (and it is only he who to blame) but there were better times, quite recently actually, when everyone praised the designer for his brilliant work. With all the sad events in mind people no longer are that generous for good words addressing Galliano, but it is unfair not to mention he is a great artist and his fashion is unforgettable. For Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 the couturier presented just 20 looks but those were fabulous as usual.
The best item in John Galliano’s Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection (at least for me) was the cream-colored coat with a high collar trimmed with luxurious fur. Unusual shape and the design of it won my heart immediately. There was a dress also that attracted attention – the floral-printed dark violet chiffon gown paired with a headpiece cascading down to the model’s face.
While there were a few items totally not wearable the majority of Galliano’s Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 creations would be great to don to various occasions. Lavish dresses looked fantastic but the shoes weren’t that impressive.
