Do you remember that tribal-inspired and all-over-printed collection of Missoni for Spring/ Summer 2011? I do. And I do remember how much I was amazed, and I admired every single piece of the range. For Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 everything’s gone. But Missoni have returned to their traditions and created the clothing that’s more fairy-tale-like and wearable.

Despite the fact I’m disappointed I can’t but admit the Missoni Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection featured a very delicate color scheme. Hues used by Margherita Missoni were all soft and pleasant: pistachio green, light purple and violet, baby blue, reserved yellow and stone grey, unpretentious orange and brown.
The inspiration for the Missoni Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection was Margherita’s younger sister’s style that is rather casual, comfy and full of mannish details. The silhouettes we have in the result are mostly loose and oversized.
What surprised a bit was the use of python leather. Missoni Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection included a few interesting jackets, some were cropped while others almost touched the floor. But all of these were multicolored which was pretty unusual. Looked great.

Margherita Missoni is not the head designer of Missoni. Although she helps out, it is ANGELA MISSONI who created this whole collection – she is the mother of both daughters and the one who is in charge still.
