Carolina Herrera isn’t the designer we expect to create casual or everyday clothing from. She does eveningwear perfectly and that should be her main focus. But she still tries to bring something new with her each collection. And I’m not talking about designs now. For Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 range Carolina Herrera made chic garments for ‘real women’, not the stick-thin model-like girls. That was a daring decision considering the fact not every couturier is ready to aim for such a goal.

When speaking about how her Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection was created Carolina Herrera mentioned that her inspiration in majority of cases came from real women she encountered in life rather than ‘moon or the stars’ or ‘books or a painting’.
She said:
I don’t get my inspiration from books or a painting. I get it from the women I meet.”
Carolina Herrera Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection is all about luxury and sophistication. Cocktail dresses with interesting necklaces, sumptuous floor-length gowns embellished with sequins and sparkling stones, lavish coats trimmed with fur and warm pant suits teamed up with shoes, belts and gloves of the same color – all these looked remarkable.
