Have you ever got that feeling of disappointment? When you were looking forward to something for a long period of time and this something did not meet your expectations at all. You feel somewhat betrayed and let down, and want to forget about this incident for good. This is very similar to what I feel now. Well, not to such a disastrous extent, of course – I can still survive and move on. Nevertheless, I expected Gucci collection to be more exciting. Don’t get me wrong, I am just trying to express my own opinion. It might be different from that of yours, and this is absolutely fine. However, from my point of view, Gucci Spring/Summer 2014 collection is a total fail.

Gucci Spring/Summer 2014: Fashion Disaster

Something must have gone wrong with Frida Giannini this time. I have always admired her creativity and great talent, but this line doesn’t stir any kind of positive feelings in my heart. Of course, there are some decent and good-looking pieces, but overall the impression is far from being unforgettable. Or else, it could be such, only in an opposite way.

Gucci Spring/Summer 2014 collection has an obvious sporty spirit, which Giannini proved with the comment about spending her summer working out:

I wanted to come back with my abs.

She must have devoted many exhausting hours to reaching her goal at the gym, where she found inspiration for the new line. But mesh T-shirts and track pants don’t look any appealing to me. One thing that speaks to me though is a range of triangle bras, exposed to the audience.

The colors here are pretty dim and far from being cool summer shades that you would like to go for. The collection is mostly black with splashes of dark orange, bronze, red-violet, amethyst and sea green.

The line features dresses (hard to be called elegant), baggy tops, basketball shorts and a couple of skirts. True fans of the brand might still opt for these clothing pieces, but I wouldn’t. Check out the gallery to see whether you like Gucci Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
