Overwhelming Lingerie Brands

Victoria’s Secret, Intimissimi, Agent Provocateur… These brands are well-known around the world. Moreover, due to ongoing advertising in the media sources, I would not be surprised if the aliens that are supposed to invade our planet within the next couple of centuries were familiar with these brands as well.

Victoria’s Secret is probably the most popular one. It was founded by Roy Raymond on June 12, 1977 and  is the largest American producer of lingerie. From their spectacular fashion shows to the wonderful photo sets with the world’s top models, this brand has truly deserved our love.

A British lingerie retailer founded in 1994 by Joseph Corre and Serena Rees is Agent Provocateur. Once you hold a piece of lingerie created by this brand designers in your hands, there is no way back. You will fall in an immediate and complete love with anything the company produces.

Intimissimi is an Italian brand started in 1996 that is also awfully hard to resist. You get fascinated by those elaborated designs and mixture of colors, as well as softness of fabric. Intimissimi brand is functioning throughout the world and has gained well-deserved love and trust of millions of ladies.

The most reasonable thing to do now is to shut off the computer, steal some money from your budget, and reward yourself with a couple of totally outstanding purchases!

Calvin Klein Resort Collection 2014

Dear ladies, if you have not purchased a gym membership yet, you better do it now! Here is a very worthy reason to torture yourself on a treadmill trainer or a fitness cycle. If you are about to share your super reasonable excuses, I have Plan B ready for you – simply do a morning run! Whatever you choose, it will bring you a mile closer to the finish line on the long track towards perfection. And the trophy won’t disappoint you, trust me! Calvin Klein has launched a Resort collection that will make your mouths water. Make sure you have enough Cleenex to wipe the drops off and get a list of gyms in your city.

Calvin Klein Resort 2014 Collection

Francisco Costa, the Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection, was inspired by an American painter Ellsworth Kelly and his unique style. Kelly’s artistic approach can be spotted in the simplicity of lines and color minimalism of the presented items. White skirts and blazers along with wide trousers and unbuttoned coats give an incredibly relaxed and easy feeling. An obvious highlight of the resort collection is a bra top so playfully uncovering a slender waistline of the models. Which is exactly why you need to work so hard on a treadmill. What can be a better match for a cool summer evening on the beach than a stylish midriff-baring top covered with a light blazer? You don’t want to give it all away, remember? A tiny strip of your velvety skin would be enough to activate minds of all the male cuties around.

Neutral shades are diluted with some emerald green, saturated blue, safari brown, and elegant black splashes of color. Ellsworth Kelly’s The Meschers obviously served as an inspiration for the Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection. Dark green and deep blue painting has an obvious relation to a belted blue suede dress and unbuttoned green suede coat. The criss-cross sandals perfectly complete lightness and self-efficiency of all the looks.

People always look forward to the weekend, but this time it was not a mere intention to have a rest. Sunday, June 16 was brightened by a spectacular show with dressed up guests, our favorite tunes, and anxious nominees. Here is one more hint – it was all about the best and biggest in music. Yes, you got it! No doubt it is the annual MuchMusic Video Channel Awards I am talking about.

Top 5 Best Dressed of the MuchMusic Video Awards 2013

This time MuchMusic Video Awards ceremony was held as a grandiose street party in Toronto, Canada. Obviously, both nominees and award presenters put a good portion of effort into their big event outfits. Let me, your humble guide, invite you to a fashion tour around the MuchMusic Headquarters.

I would start with the H&M’s best dressed Shay Mitchell. Pretty little liar wearing a patterned and colorful Clover Canyon top with a matching skirt definitely deserves to be crowned as the best dressed guest.

Taylor Swift in a trendy monochrome Herve Leger dress paired with Christian Louboutin bag and shoes, Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira jewels, hits all the notes.

Another Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale gets a point for a simple yet stylish white bell shaped dress perfectly outlining her petite waist and contrasting with the gorgeous fuchsia pumps.

MuchMusic’s V-jay Phoebe Dykstra totally stands out in her a la 80′s golden and black tiny dress.

The former Smallville star Laura Vandervoort once again proves that less is more. Her white thigh-skimming dress with sheer panels is set off by red and golden accessories and a bicolor manicure.

Top 5 Worst Looks of the MuchMusic Video Awards Ceremony

However, seems like some celebrities that attended the ceremony did not bother to consult with their stylists. Let me introduce you Top-5 worst dressed of the MuchMusic Video Awards 2013.

Apparently Brittany Snow chose to combine all the latest fashion trends in one look. Covered on top and see-through on the bottom, sheer skirt dress is considered to be this season’s must-have. That would do it, but Miss Snow decided to mix it with a vintage polka dot trend and moreover completed the outfit with inelegant black shoes.

Number two goes to Demi Lovato who opted for Saint Laurent mini dress and pumps. A black long-sleeved and dense-textured dress looks pretty heavy itself, but when one combines it with black shoes and black nail polish, she no longer looks like a 20-year old girl.

As we can see Naya Rivera is also a big fan of see-through bottoms. In her case this trend does not serve its purpose. Way too long bottom of her outfit gives her legs a weird and unappetizing look and the tips of her black shoes hiding underneath the sheer fabric do not add a whole lot.

A well-deserved fourth place goes to Mia Martina. A Canadian singer definitely has her own style, plus creativity is always encouraged, but not to such an extent I guess. It is hard to tell whether this ripped up thingy is an extention of her top or a skirt going over the denim shorts. Her leather sandal boots would have been an awesome detail to stress had she worn a less overloaded outfit.

The Juno-award winning singer Anjulie would be a better match for a beach party in one of the Hawaiian resort hotels. Who knows, she might have mixed up the destination after all.

Zac Posen Dress Spring/Summer 2013

Zac Posen is desiging some wedding dresses for David’s Bridal. The designer’s famous structured gowns with dramatic drapes and skirts are often seen on the red carpet so David’s Bridal chose him to create a collection of affordable dresses with this appeal. David’s Bridal executive vice president of merchandising Catalina Maddoz told WWD:

We brainstormed for several months because we had a very successful launch with Vera [Wang]. As always, we were looking for what’s next. We were talking about dramatic red-carpet movie-star kind of looks, and Zac came to mind,

Zac Posen To Launch Bridal Line

The Truly Zac Posen collection will also include formal apparel for wedding guests. Initially there will be six bridal gowns in the price range between $850 and $1,350 and five limited-edition pieces for social occasions in the range between $195 and $225.

The designer created exclusive dresses for both Coco Rocha and Portia de Rossi but now his wedding dresses will become available at selected David’s Bridal stores as well as online. The sizes will range from 0 to 14 while bigger sizes like 16 to 26 will also be available by special order.

Posen describes the collection’s aesthetic as ‘glamorous, romantic, strong’. He says that he doesn’t like exagerated lacing or details on the dress but rather wants textures to blend and as he says ‘be discovered’ as one approches the dress. The collection also got a ‘blessing’ from Vera Wang who is a friend of Posen’s.

Zac Posen has also recently launched a new contemporary line ZAC Zac Posen that is somewhere between his main collection and affordable Z Spoke line. And the designer has created a replica of his $1.5 million golden dress for Rent The Runway’s “As Good As Gold” collection.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2014

There are skirt and short ensembles. Some are more relaxed and casual than others. There’s a tweed pant suit as well as a dress and a coat decorated with fringe. The outerwear is quite diverse in the collection. There are a couple of long coats with 3/4 sleeves thrown over maxi dresses and a fur jacket paired with a casual top and a midi skirt with front pockets. There is also a statement green coat with long sleeves that looks absolutely fantastic with the black dress and a yellow coat paired with a printed dress.

Some of the pieces are made in shiny fabrics solid and printed. There is an ensemble with a red oversize jacket and a printed skirt. There is also one with a printed blazer and a short burgundy skirt. Another one in same style again features an oversize black jacket with a printed back and a red skirt.

The footwear features the biggest shoe trend of 2010 clogs and loafers. There is an ocassional heel but the collection mostly features flat sandals, loafers, and boots. Some clogs also come with high heels though.

Though the collection is not my style and the footwear is too clunky to my taste the collection still has some beautiful pieces like that coat in the photo above. What do you think about Louis Vuitton Resort 2014 collection?

amfAR Inspiration Gala 2013 Fashion

Jennifer Lopez opted for a slinky sparkly blue dress by Tom Ford to attend the event. She accessorized her look with Harry Winston jewelry and a black clutch.

Uma Thurman wore pink for the ocascion. Her gown featured a corset and a beautiful skirt. The actress finished her look with metallic sandals and some jewelry.

Carly Rae Jepsen looked amazing in Carlie Wong dress with a semi-sheer patterned overlay. The singer styled the look with an aqua bracelet and a golden box clutch.

Model Candice Swanepoel appeared with platinum locks on the carpet wearing Theysken’s Theory top and skirt with a dramatic train.

Lindsey Wixson wore a dramatic black sheer gown embroidered with fur and crystals. The model also sported dramatic earrings and red lipstick.

Eniko Mihalik also opted for a dramatic feather train dress bedazzled with crystals and styled with a dramatic clutch in a similar color. Mihalik also sported statement earrings and curls.

Dree Hemingway wore a cure white dress with a net skirt. She carried a big clutch and completed the look with white sandals and matte pink lipstick.

Socialite and style icon Shala Monroque looked amazing in a red Valentino dress in patent leather with sheer sleeves and white collar. She styled the outfit with silver metallic pointed shoes and a box clutch.

Givenchy Resort 2014 Collection

The collection features some of the pieces from the previous lines but the collection still gives off a fresh vibe. Starting with some airy pieces the line ends with some denim-like navy styles and a black ensemble with wide leg satin trousers and a cardigan with pockets.

The florals can be seen not only in clothes but in shoes too. There are a few different floral prints. One comes in a combination with colorful dots.

There are a few dresses, trenches, trouser and skirt ensembles. Some of the dresses are paired with the pants, a trend of the season. Other styles feature matching skirt belts even trenches.

There are also a few leather pieces which include a leather skirt belt and a jacket. The footwear is sexy and stylish featuring over the ankle boots and sandals with curved heels. It comes in a variety of materials and patterns. There are even lacy open toe kicks.

The collection is unsual and the solid colors make a nice change from the busy looks of Resort 2013. The accessories in this range still make a statement. There are cute handbags in black and brown and a floral purse that can be matched to the outfit.

Unfortunately, Givenchy will not be showing its couture collection this year as well though the brand will still create pieces for clients.

The FiFi Awards held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall went quite glamorous. Taylor Swift, Dita Von Teese, were Sky Ferreira were among guests.

Red Carpet Fashion From Two Award Ceremonies

To receive her Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award, Taylor Swift appeared in a white Emillio Pucci gown with a sheer panel in the halter neck top. The pop star completed her Rene Caovilla shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Dita Von Teese graced the red carpet in a gorgeous Maria Lucia Hohan dress paired with Yves Saint Laurent shoes and statement earrings and bracelet. She also wore her signature red lipstick and red manicure.

Sky Ferreira opted for a black mini leather skirt with a sheer lace blouse and a blazer. The singer finished the look with black shoes and a bright lipstick.

Model Alana Zimmer showed up wearing a beautiful sparkly boho chic dres with a pleated skirt and long sleeves. She completed the look with an orange clutch.

Jessica Szohr looked glam at the event wearing an embroidered silver Kaufmanfranco mini dress with nude pumps.

Crystal & Lucy Awards guests and honorees included actresses from Mad Men cast, director Sofia Coppola, Francesca Eastwood, and others.

January Jones chose a beautiful printed Mary Katrantzou dress to wear for the ocassion. She completed the look with the neon earrings and purple besazzled pumps.

Sofia Coppola who received a Dorothy Arzner Directors Award for her work and chose to wear a blackValentino dress with a white collar.

Finally Francesca Eastwood turned up wearing an embroidered black dress with a sheer top. She accessorized it with a red clutch and peep-toe shoes.

Prabal Gurung Resort 2014

In comparison with the Pre-Fall collection though this one is very bright although it features quite a few pieces in solid neutral colors like black, white, and navy. Many of the items are designed in floral prints or dimensional decorations that definitely make a statement.

Other styles feature abstract and geometric prints mixed with solid bright color panels. The cutouts took a more subtle form of small rectangles. They can be seen in white pleated trousers and a white navy dress.

The footwear as always is something to look at. There are cut out slingbacks and super stylish monochrome ankle boots that have a slight futuristic appeal.

The cuts and silhouettes in the collection are pretty sharp and yet there are loose wrap style dresses in there as well as structural elements in both dresses and jackets. The last dress features a trendy assymetric hemline while the color block palette makes for a more casual look.

The collection is beautiful and contemporary. There are mostly statement pieces that don’t require much styling to them. The minimalistic trouser and skirt ensembles feature the dramatic feather elements. But most of all I loved the printed florals. They are bold and beautiful as usual and match greatly with other pieces from the collection. The shoes are particularly amazing and suit the outfits perfectly.

Stella McCartney Resort 2014 Collection

The new collection from Stella McCartney is still based on oversize silhouettes as her latest works but they thanks to pastel color palette they look airy and summer-y.

The first part of the collection is all python. Python print in yellow, in dark grey, python mixed with gentle florals or pastel solids. Another part of the collection is filled with matches-printed and solid items. The styles include drop waist dresses, jumpsuits, and various ensembles. There are also jackets and a yellow coat in an outerwear.

The collection is full of quirly elements beside the matches print like heart and lip-shaped lace appliques on the dresses, oversize peplums, beads and decorations in forms of lips, matches, and hearts.

The footwear is also quite interesting. There are slipper style shoes that feature ‘empty’ heels as well as some flats and sandals. The handbags vary from stylish totes to metallic clutches that are often matched to metallic sandals or slipper shoes.

At the presentation most stars traditionally wore the clothes from the designer. Cameron Diaz looked amazing in a white dress and sandals, while Kate Bosworth looked glam as usual in a pink dress she paired with black shoes.

McCartney  herself looked fab in a pink dress with red lace applique and metallic sandals. See the collection in the gallery below and tell us what you think about it.
