Cate Blanchett in $11,000 Roger Vivier shoes

Cate Blanchett is one of the most elegant and talented Hollywood stars of the day. She dazzled the public with her gorgeous downs at the Cannes International film Festival this May and she attracted media attention during the Helpmann Awards in Australia last week.

Cate was wearing a tight fitting black velvet corset dress with a very impressing plunging cleavage that she accessorized with diamante-encrusted Roger Vivier.

The shoes are in many ways impressive. First of all, they have Swarovski crystal buckles, and secondly they are limited edition Roger Vivier Limelight American platform heels that will cost you $11,000 to have them on a shelf in your wardrobe.

Roger Vivier, a French fashion designer, was best known for creating the Stiletto heel. He has been called the “Fragonard of the shoe” and his shoes “the Faberge of footwear” by critics. He used silk, pearls, beads, lace, appliqué and jewels to create unique decorations for his shoes.

Ava Gardner, Gloria Guinness, Queen Elizabeth II and The Beatles were all Vivier customers before he died in 1998.
