Call me old-fashioned but I do think women shouldn’t expose themselves too much, especially if they are pregnant. And going totally nude in front of an audience and the whole world is totally unacceptable. I’m talking about Sophia Cahill, a glamour model and former Miss Wales, who walked milliner Robyn Coles’s debut show yesterday wearing nothing but a number of hats.
Being
eight-month-pregnant
Sophia agreed to participate in a fashion show alongside four other models. All women, coming in different body sizes and shapes, walked the runway naked with only hats on.
The idea behind the show wasn’t actually to demonstrate the headwear but to attract as much attention as possible.
Robyn Coles commented:
As an unknown designer you have to find ways of getting people to your show. I wanted to use different models and different sizes. I’m a big believer in that. With accessories like hats it doesn’t matter what size or shape you are.”
Explaining why she decided to hire a heavily pregnant model to showcase her creations Coles said:
She was one person I knew would be more than happy to get her kit off. I thought it would be nice she would be pregnant for the show. You never see that kind of thing in fashion.”
