If there is someone who’s unexpected and trend-setting it is Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci. He likes experimenting with designs and models, mixing girls and boys, celebrities and models. He used a transsexual model for Givenchy’s ad campaign last season and caused a controversy by doing that. Now he is intended to make people speak again by casting an albino male Stephen Thompson for Givenchy Spring/ Summer 2011 adverts.

Photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, albino model Thompson appears along with other Givenchy beauties including Mariacarla Boscono, Daphne Groeneveld and Iris Strubegger. The models look great together. Not that I like the campaign pics but I do think they’re worth being discussed. And that’s exactly what Richardo Tisci wanted from us.
The new Spring/ Summer 2011 Givenchy campaign with first ever albino model is to be released in the January issue of L’Uomo Vogue, French Vogue in February and several American titles in March.
