Gucci brand is going to change significantly with Frida Giannini as the creative director. This girl has already said that she wants to outstep from her predecessor’s shadow and now we see she definitely means that.
Just a few days ago she claimed the label is to lauch a children’s line in June. The first range will be unveiled in Italy and then hit around 40 stores worldwide.
At the moment Frida is in Singapore where she has been honoured to have an orchid named after her, the Paravanda Frida.
She said:
It was very touching and I loved the thought that the orchid will still be there a few hundred years from now. I have never experienced such an honour before.”
The orchid, a white flower with bright pink tips, served as the inspiration for 88 limited edition Boston bags which Frida exclusively designed for Singapore to benefit children’s charity Mainly I Love Kids (MILK). The range of white-and-pink Paravanda Frida bags flew off the shelves within a month since their launch in February.
