Every day designers come with something new and sometimes really unexpected, and even ridiculous. A good example of this can be an ice pack bra launched in Tokyo yesterday. The bra comes complete with two gel pads, which after placed for a couple of hours into freezer, should be inserted into the cup area top keep the wearer feel cool.
Super Cool Bra Can Protect You From Summer Heat!
The unusual piece of fashion, which is named Super Cool Bra, was designed by Triumph team. It comes in two different colors and is decorated with a sprig of mint and a miniature wind chime ‘which offer a refreshing fragrance and sound’.
In case the cooling bra pads don’t help you fight the heat you can as well use a miniature bamboo ladle, which is made to splash water over the body, and a tiny hand fan.
The idea is crazy of course, and Triumph know that too, so they are not going to sell their ice pack bra. The bizarre-looking bra was created for a different cause – to encourage Japanese citizens to cut down on air conditioning, which is essential as the country is now facing energy issues following the power disaster at Fukushima last year.
Triumph spokeswoman Yoshiko Masuda said:
The whole nation, especially the Kansai region, is expected to suffer from a shortfall of electricity. Companies and families now have to deal with higher electricity bills, so we decided on this theme as we felt we had to increase awareness of saving electricity.”
