Kate Moss Loses Job With Topshop

Kate Moss is a fabulous model who knows fashion well. But designing is quite a different field. Even if Kate has tried hard and her collection sell well that doesn’t mean this will last forever. Unlike real fashion designers Kate couldn’t have enough inspiration for all that work she wanted to do. And now, after 14 collections for the high street store, Kate Moss loses her job with Topshop.

Sir Philip Greene has dismissed the rumors the supermodel is to quit the position due to a conflict. He insists that she is planning to concentrate on her other projects.

Green says:

There have been no dramas and we don’t need a new muse. There is only one Kate and we are not looking for a replacement.”

Kate has done 14 collections with us. It has been fantastic for us and fantastic for her, but they take more and more time and she cannot do this full-time anymore because she has other commitments.”

However, industry insiders claim Kate’s quitting has been caused by bad sales of her latest creations.

A source tells Britain’s Sunday Times:

Kate Moss’ range has not been selling at the same rate that it was and was in danger of running out of steam. At one point, she was doing six collections a year but they cut it back to two a year because they could not sustain it and that is when it started to falter.”

There is another possible reason why Moss decided to leave the retailer. It is reported that Mr Green’s daughter Chloe is to take the position. The 19-year-old girl has been in the fashion industry since she was 12. Although she hasn’t designed anything she has been watching others doing that and helping her father choosing new collections for his outlets.

Although Kate Moss has done a lot for Topshop this business needs to change. Besides, Kate might already have a few new projects. So the fact the British supermodel will no longer be associated with the retailer isn’t disappointing for us.
