Rihanna isn’t new to fashion. We all watch her daily fashion makeovers and some of us even consider her a style icon. However, the singer feels this is not enough for her. She wants her fans to not only copy her style but also wear clothes she designed herself. Too ambitious? Not really, if you are Rihanna.
Rihanna To Design Fashion Collection For River Island
Rihanna, who has tried designing for Emporio Armani before, this time teamed up with a British brand River Island. No details about either the collaboration or the future line have been revealed yet, but both Rihanna and River Island say they are ‘thrilled’ to be working together.
Rihanna commented:
I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family run business also really appealed to me. I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”
River Island chief executive Ben Lewis commented back:
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and to be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way. Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit. Rihanna will be designing the collection and we will be sharing our fashion experience with her to develop a range her fans will love.”
Rihanna’s debut range for River Island will hit stores in spring 2013.
