Sarah Burton – McQueen’s Creative Director
After the death of Alexander McQueen the brand that had been founded and run by him stayed without a leader. But now everything has changd. Sarah Burton, who used to work alongside the iconic designer agreed to become the creative director of the fashion house.

Sarah has a clear vision of what the brand should be like because she had been Alexander McQueen’s right hand for 16 years. And it was she who completed the last ever collection by the designer showcased at Paris Fashion Week in March.
Sarah understands the responsibility she has taken and wants to stay close to McQueen’s vision of fashion.
She said:
The creation of modern, beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy.”
Jonathan Akeroyd, president and CEO of Alexander McQueen, commented on Sarah’s new position:
We are delighted that Sarah has agreed to take on the role of creative director. Having worked alongside Lee McQueen for more than 14 years, she has a deep understanding of his vision, which will allow the company to stay true to its core values.”
He hopes her appointment will help strengthen the brand. And one of the first steps she is going to make is to launch a men’s underwear collection.
Akeroyd added:
Sarah is extremely talented and under her creative leadership we are ready to enter a new phase in the brand’s history.”
