Sometimes I think that the higher the heels of my pumps the better. But when I say ‘higher’ I don’t actually mean that a heel should be longer than 6 or 7 inches, and it definitely should come with a platform to keep the right balance. However, Christian Louboutin decided to surprise us all by creating a shoe with an eight-inch stiletto in a ballet style. Christian Louboutin said about his design:
I could not help being inspired by English National Ballet… after all… isn’t the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel? The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, closer to heaven!”
Christian Louboutin designed these incredible shoes to auction off along with a number of other fashion items to raise funds for the English National Ballet. The silk Swarovski-encrusted heels are just one lot of many you might be interested in. Designers including Erdem, Giles Deacon, Moschino, Roksanda Ilincic and Julien Macdonald have made ballet-inspired pieces specially for the auction.

Louboutin may have done more to damage women’s feet than anyone since the Chinese allowed foot-binding. He made ridiculously-expensive 4″ heels when they were otherwise relegated to p*rn shoe purveyors, and I do not know a single woman who thinks they are comfortable – his in particular.
There’s a reason so many celebs choose Jimmy Choo shoes for red carpets where they actually have to walk and stand for a long time…Jimmy Choos are designed by shoemakers who actually care about comfort… The heels are centered more under the heel to take more pressure off the ball of the foot, and the toe-boxes are more generous. Louboutin and that egotistical Blahnik don’t deserve women’s hard-earned money.
Yes they are inspired by ballet toe shoes, but these are no shoes to wear as “shoes”, THIS IS A PIECE OF ART! As a ballet Dancer, I wrap my feet, sometimes bind them and always wear some sort of padding ( wool or gel). Very few dancers go without foot protection, why? because it KILLS your feet. So if anyone were to wear a shoe like this without proper “padding” they would ruin their feet. Frankly these are not even safe for a dancer to wear, the vamp is to low. So after all this ranting, all I have to say is, IT would be easier to walk in toe shoes than this, but its a lovely piece of ART!

The man is an “educated idiot”. Worldly smarts and no spirit. This is not art. This is gender bondage. This is not something that “>>>makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, closer to heaven!” This is something the prepetuates the ruin of women for the profit of “fashion” designers and there greed. Incredible that mainstream media goes along with it.
I own a pair of ballet heels, this is not a new invention and as long as you have good poise walking in them is no problem. I love my ballet shoes and wish I could buy these, they are beautiful.
