It seems like transgender models are gradually becoming a norm in the fashion industry. Following Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci’s decision to hire Lea T to front their Fall/ Winter 2011 campaign, Marc Jacobs invited the Australian model Andrej Pejic to represent his Spring/ Summer 2011 collection.

Blonde-haired Andrej Pejic has already shot the campaign for Marc Jacobs Spring/ Summer 2011 range in Marrakech, Morocco, with acclaimed photographer Juergen Teller. In the ads he will be featured alongside Ginta Lapina.
Andrej Pejic is well-known in the industry. He’s appeared in French and Italian Vogue and had a chance to work with Daphne Groeneveld, Freja Beha Erichsen, Iselin Steiro and Iris Strubegger.

Andrej Pejic is NOT trangender, get your facts right!
Andrej has never claimed to be a transgender, he is simply an androgynous man, which makes this whole story completely void!
OWH PLEAAASE he’s not a transgender. What a shame, do a proper investigation before posting an article
An androgynous male who dresses as a woman is considered transgendered by some definitions of the words.
The real question here is what would Andrej say.
You are who you are after all.
Andrej may very well be transgender, it just depends on how he identifies. transgender is an umbrella term that covers everything from gender queer, androgynous, cross dresser, transvestite, transsexual, etc.
Andrej however is not transsexual it, at least from all accounts that I have heard of. So it basically comes down to whether or not Andrej identifies as transgender.
So for everyone claiming to do a proper investigation maybe you should get your facts straight.
Recently Andrej stated that he indeed considered himself transgender. You can search for the September 14, 2011 Nightline report titled Guy and Doll: Man Models Women’s Clothing. It was filmed during New York Fashion week.
Andrej is such an interesting and intelligent person. However, it’s easy to forget he is only 20, still so young. When I was 20 I wasn’t sure who I was. Decisions and permanence in any situation was a scary thought. Who wants to be tied down to anything, that’s not freedom. Life is a journey, I don’t think anyone should be cookie-cut into one specific category in any aspect of their life. We change and evolve as people every day throughout our lifetime. I suspect Andrej is just like the rest of us, only much more beautiful(than me, at least).
I hope he stays male model, he’s really very cute and attractive, whatever he does, he should keep workin in fashion etc. I’m too old for him, but if I was his age…
I don’t know him at all, it was a coincidence to read about him right now. I think he should stay himself. Today we are all a little mixed up, male, female, we have sides that are more male and other sides more female. What others think is not important, he’s not a bad guy I think, he’s just finding out stuff about life, I guess he’s very sensitive and fragile. Gaultier is also one of my favourite designers. I hope this guy stays happy.
Andrej Pejic is a beautyfull Trangender,i hope that I can meet Him.Because I’m also a Transgender and i’m coming from the Netherlands.
