Amy Winehouse is back! And now she is a new fashion designer! Karl Lagerfeld called her his muse and Roberto Cavalli went crazy for her, Jonathan Kelsey designed the ‘Amy’ shoe in her honour.
Amy’s sung for the fashion crowd at a Fendi party at Paris Fashion Week and almost made the Preen Power dress famous when she rocked it on the red carpet in London.
And now she is colloborating with PPQ, the popular London label. Earlier the star who designed for PPQ was Peaches Geldof with her capsule collection.
PPQ designer Amy Molyneaux told Grazia:
There have been talks with Amy and we are now in the first stages of the project. The range will be all about high end statement pieces, inspired by Amy’s style. For example maybe an amazing piece of jewellery like a bracelet or a dress. It’s going to be distributed online, we are going to be providing all materials and doing the design, but Amy will definitely be involved in the creative process.
“It will be very different to Peaches’ line for PPQ as that was more of a diffusion line – this will be a homage to Amy’s look.”
And as with all celebs lines, Amy Winehouse isn’t nominally designing this range, but it’s well of Molyneaux to be up-front about that.
The singer is staying at St. Lucia and recording her third album. This is what Lisa Armstrong wrote a year ago about Winehouse:
Somehow the fashion industry has got it into its head that what’s really missing from every stylish woman’s life is an accessory that will make her look like someone whose next must-have is an intravenous drip.
I hope Amy will come back and stop her problems.
