The trendy bags, made by Pardon, are being sold on the French island of Reunion and will be accessible to buy soon all over France, said the company manager Peter Mertes.
The French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife will be represented by her lawful team in court on Monday.
Their legation is to get a judge to ban sales of the handbag.
A representative for her lawyer Thierry Herzog said,
This bag makes use of Mrs Bruni-Sarkoszy’s image without her consent and for commercial gain.”
The picture was taken from a 1993 black and white photo of the super model posing upright in the nude.
The famous photo was sold at the New York auction early this year for $91,000. The other offers were nude pics of Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen.
Mertes has reportedly manufactured 10,000 bags already and has presented most of them as gifts to customers who have bought other products.
He fights that he is entitled to take the photo because Bruni-Sarkozy is a public figure.
