Introduced by the cable sports channel ESPN in 1993, the annual ESPY Awards allows sports fans worldwide to join in an online vote for their favorites in such categories as Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Best Coach/Manager, and Team of the Year.
A lot of 2008 Olympians and famous sportsmen, and celebrities came to the ESPN hosted awards at the the Nokia Theatre in Los Angele.
Samuel L. Jackson hosted the 2009 ESPY Awards, while such stars as Demi Moore, Rashida Jones and Zachary Quinto, and also Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Nastia Liukin, Dara Torres, Wyclef Jean, Misty May-Treanor and her beach volleyball partner Kerri Walsh, Bruce Jenner and his daughter Kendall Jenner, Kristi Yamaguchi, Jaime Pressly, Kendra Wilkinson, Hank Baskett, Kurt Warner and his wife Brenda Warner, Venus Williams, Candy Spelling, Anna Rawson, Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa Bryant, Jeff Gordon and his wife Ingrid Vandebosch and others attended.
Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr was super sexy in a white floor-grazing Calvin Klein halter. She took a white clutch and accessories with diamond-shaped earrings.
Marisa Miller made waves hairstyle and smoky eye makeup, and dazzled on the red capret in a simple white strapless dress from Dolce & Gabbana with a crystals belt and a pair of black peep toe pumps.
Demi Moore was in red too. She opted for Zac Posen Resort 2010 dress with open shoulders and revealing decolte. She presented the best male athlete award.
Rashida Jones looked hot in a white satin sheer panel dress.
2008’s Glamour Woman of the Year, Condoleeza Rice presented the best female athlete in the red dress by Oscar de la Renta with a fancy bow in the front, gold shoes and stylish big chain on her neck which is a must-have accessory for Autumn 2009.
Venus Williams and Serena Williams presented the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, both were in long gowns.
Serena Williams was amazing in the teal blue Roberto Cavalli gown. Venus Williams wore a print silk maxi dress by Mara Hoffman Spring 2009. She accessorized her look with a silver necklace and a coctail ring.
Jaime Pressly brightened it up in the Joey Tierney Couture adorable backless mini dress.
Dara Torres, winner of the best comeback award was in black dress and accessorized it with a giand watch on her left hand.
Nastia Liukin, winner of the best female athlete award, was amazing in silver one shoulder dress and bejewelled sandals.
Australian golf star Anna Rawson was spotted wearing a dress from the Donna Karan Collection.
I think Vanessa Bryant’s look was terrible! Too vulgar!
WNBA player Lisa Leslie was in a long black gown. She was neither super amazing nor plainly bad.
