Drew Barrymore for W Magazine April 2009

Actress Drew Barrymore makes the cover of April 2009 issue of W Magazine, which hits stands March 24th.

In the interview she tells she is being considered to produce the third Twilight movie, Eclipse:

I’m one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I’m a director now. But you know, they’ll make their choice.”

On working hard to be happy:

I get out of bed with a spring in my step like, I’m going to f—in’ rock this day. I’m going to make people happy. Here I go.”

On her 5 year dating with ex-boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti of the Strokes:

One of the most, if not the most, important relationships I’ve had in my life. We’re still very close. I’m just learning who I am and how relationships work and how to make them function. No different from anyone else.”

On her relationship with her own mother being “the polar opposite” of a love story:

My mother and I split ways when I was very young and have never really reconciled.”

About a lot like being in a rehab:

It’s weird that you bring that up. I got institutionalized as a kid, and I felt like I was back there. A lot of times I found myself unhappy and isolated, and the only other time I felt that way was when I was in there. It was absolutely trying to relearn to live. You are learning to become someone else.”
