Ferruccio Pozzoni leaves Valentino fashion house

According to the Italian fashion house, menswear designer, Ferruccio Pozzoni, has left Valentino.
The couturier used to work successfully with Prada and men’s tailor Brioni. His collaboration with Valentino started in September 2007 when the Fall/Winter 2008/09 collection was being created.

In accordance with both sides, Mr Ferruccio Pozzoni and Valentino SpA have decided not to renew the consultancy contract, which refers to Mr Pozzoni’s creative guide of Valentino Men’s collection,” Valentino said in a statement.

Despite the fact the designer no longer works for Valentino he will complete his role with the commercial presentation of Valentino’s men’s Fall/Winter 2009/2010 collection on January 17. Milan’s menswear fashion week begins on Saturday and runs until January 20.

Valentino have many changes. The announcement about Pozzoni leaving the fashion house comes after the departure of designer Alessandra Facchinetti in October. The collaboration was reported to be ended “following a misaligned vision with the company.”

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli took over from Facchinetti and were named as creative directors for all product categories in October.

Valentino Fashion Group was bought by private equity group Permira in 2007 and now is trying to diversify the brand’s line and attract younger customers.
