Gucci ad campaign Spring/Summer 2009
Gucci’s spring/summer 2009 advertising campaign is something really amazing!!!
Let’s start from the fact the models posing for the photo are an international mix of the top: Australian glamourgirl Abbey Lee stars alongside British beauty Lily Donaldson, Russian siren Natasha Poly, and Swedish sensation Jonatan Frenk.
The choice is perfect – beautiful people for a beautiful collection!
The models look fabulous in their colorful Gucci garments on the jungle background. Those saturated hues make everyone who sees the picture feel the heat and humidity of the photoshoot.
But what is that python handbag doing there? It seems to me like it was created using one of the locals! The idea is interesting but too bold. The bag itself looks pretty sophisticated but the casual slouch make it versatile enough to carry every day.
The tropical ad was photographed by the Dutch duo, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Soon you’ll be able to see it in your favorite glossies.

Skinny Jeans dangerous???
nice clothes, very bright and lively, but teh bag is awful.
Why do the models in the 2nd pic look so tired? We all know it isn’t because they’ve been hiking through the jungle all day. Is it because their frail, famished frames are unable to support the weight of the gigantic bag? Although I like the clothes featured here, I wouldn’t go out to a store after seeing this ad to purchase them due to the unhappy looks on the models faces. The ad makes me think, ‘If the models look like they are dying when they’re getting paid to wear the duds then I couldn’t possibly be happy wearing them after I had paid for them.’
I also need to ad that my response to the photgraphs is a class project in which we had to analyze a photograph upon first look.
