Kristen Stewart is 18. The actress plays Bella Swan, the awkward new student at Forks High School who falls in love with the vampire Edward Cullen. Stewart’s past film credits include Panic Room, Into the Wild, and In the Land of Women.

On getting the script even though she had never even heard of the books:
I guess I was just living under rocks and mountains. And though we were warned, I figured it would be a pretty exclusive fan base. I thought we were making a cult movie; I had no idea it was going to be this,
like, phenomenon.”
On her character Bella Swan, a recently relocated high school junior who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson):
Bella’s a very relatable girl. She inhabits qualities that most girls have, even if it’s not on the surface… What I love about the story and what puts it on a different level is that it’s ‘chemical’…there’s nobody else for either of them. Period.” (She did, on occasion, draw from her own romantic life – she’s been with boyfriend Michael Angarano “forever” as she puts it.)
On the fashion world:
If I’m just chilling out, then people can see me any which way, but it’s different when you’re putting yourself together to do something professionally. You’re under a lot of scrutiny. It’s a bizarre thing, to me, to consider that what I wear or what I do with my hair, can affect my career… I’m not the type of person who has a million things in my closet to put together, so I’ve begun to work with a stylist and we’ve started to figure out what I like. Simple, classically pretty things; I love Chanel.”
The December 08/January 09 issue of Teen Vogue hits stands November 18. Twilight opens November 21.
Vanity Fair magazine has presented their Twilight cast photoshoots, that include Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson getting snug.
Kristen Stewart gave interview for this issue:
What was your initial impression of the project?
I thought it was really ambitious, this portrayal of the ultimate, most epic love story that could be. Also, Bella is not a typical female lead. The power balance between her and Edward is really skewed. Edward is this confident, perfect, idealistic man, although deep down he’s actually really afraid. Bella is naïve but also sure-footed. Whatever it is inside of her that drives her is stronger than she is. She just trusts the shit out of herself.
Bella and Edward, played by Robert Pattinson, share a very intense love in his film. How was it working with Robert?
Well, I basically cast him. We did one day of auditions and a bunch of guys came in. Catherine Hardwicke, the director, afterwards was like, “What do you think? This is such a hard choice.” I was like, “Are you kidding me!? Its such an obvious choice!” It couldn’t have been better. It was sort of perfect.
What did you do to prepare for your role?
We were always trying to figure out what it should feel like when Edward touched me, how far away he would have to be until he could smell me, things like that.
Are you naturally clumsy like your character?
Well, I’m definitely not the most graceful being, but it’s really difficult to be clumsy on cue. It’s like physical comedy. It was fun.

i have read the whole series over 30 times! i’ve got over 5,000 posters covering my room, my mom even thinks i love twilight more than her! i’ve seen and own all her movies! i have the soundtrack to both the movies, i have the board game, the companion book, i watch the movie 2 times everyday, i’ve seen new moon 3 times, i have 27 twilight magazines, 3 twilight bookmarks, stickers,the directors notebook, a kristen stewart book, and robert pattinson book, one of kstew’s rings, three outfits she’s worn, the vanity twilight set, the twilight vanity box, a framed twilight picture from hollywood, the new moon script sighned by the whole cast, a new moon bag,5 twilight shirts, 3 twilight key chains, and i know a bunch of personal stuff about her because my dad is selling her a car!!!
