Lily Cole used to be insecure about her looks

Lily Cole is a British supermodel whose unusual appearance tends to change our conventional vision of fashion. She is very tall (5ft 10in), red-haired and exceptionally beautiful.

Lily is a confident girl, she knows what she wants and does it. But this hasn’t been all her life. As well as many other girls who are famous now she had some insecurities about her looks. She wished to look like others, just be pretty.

Yes, for sure when I was younger. I can’t remember what it was specifically – my height, my hair or just features I didn’t like. I was like most teenagers. I wanted to look more conventional – you know, to just be the pretty girl in school,’ the 21-year-old says.

But at the age of 14 she was invited to make a step into modeling business. At that very moment Lily realized how much her uncommon looks were important for her and what an advantage they were for her modeling career.

When asked if she would like to change something about her appearance the supermodel replied:

In all honesty, I don’t think I would. I have made a living off the way I look, and I have really learnt to accept myself for being unusual,’ she says with a little laugh.

But then she added:

I would like better colouration on my legs. A permanent olive, perhaps – although that might be a bit extreme with my colouring. But I would definitely like a little less of that English, mottled purple thing that makes it necessary to wear tights all the time.’
