Rodarte to team up with Colette
The Rodarte sisters have become extremely popular and now no one would believe that only a few years ago they were just ordinary girls making clothes at home.
The creative duo, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, have already announced they will be working together with Target for a Go International limited edition line that will include 55 holiday dresses and separates.
The collection will be available in stores nationwide and on Target.com through February 6th.
And now another even more interesting piece of news – the two designers are reported to be collaborating with Paris’ most influential boutique, Colette.
For one whole month Rodarte will be creating a gallery and retail space on the second floor of the boutique this October, during Paris Fashion Week.
The gallery will showcase pieces from the Fall/Winter 2009 Rodarte collection, as well as some other items specially chosen by Rodarte.
The list of those includes: CDs, DVDs, artwork by Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, Mari Estman, Elliott Hundley, Alexandra Grant, and Karen Kilimnik, books with covers hand-painted by Rebekah Miles, Rodarte knitted animals, limited edition jewelry created by the Rodarte sisters’ mother, glitter taxidermy by Annakim Violette, and the marbled ballet flats Rodarte designed in a team with Repetto.
Good for Rodarte, their fashion empire expands season after season!
