Fashion mag Harper’s Bazaar will disregard the media downturn with a extra super-sized issue for March 2009.
The magazine will output a large 330mm x 245mm issue, in contrast with its normal 290mm x 215mm size, for its regular price of ₤3.99.
Harper’s Bazaar will show the additional space to display spring fashion.
Lucy Yeomans, the Harper’s Bazaar editor, said:
At a time when everyone’s thinking about cutting back and downsizing, it’s wonderful to be able to treat our readers to this super-luxe, super-sized March issue at no extra cost.
I’m delighted also to have British actress Emily Blunt on the cover. Having stolen the show in The Devil Wears Prada, Blunt steps into two major starring roles this month – like our issue she is, literally, the new big thing!”
Emily Blunt poses in a blue Gucci dress with a gold cuff and blue brooches.
Inside the magazine there is an interview with British actress and also designer of the moment Luella Bartley, and director Sofia Coppola.
Here are some quotes from the interview:
I was blown away by how remarkable Queen Victoria was: irrepressible, adventurous, stubborn and emotional. She loved the opera, theatre and to dance – she would be up until four in the morning. She adored filthy stories, and sex too.
The paparazzi can become like vultures. But then, they don’t know where I live, and I don’t think I’m tabloid material. I’m probably far too boring in their eyes – I’m not rolling pantyless out of nightclubs.
