New year and new magazine issues! Elle UK presents Kate Winslet on the February 2009 issue.

In the interview British actress talks about lost weight and her figure.

She asserts that she has got slimmed thanks to systematic Pilates sessions at her home which she has done upon giving birth her second child five years ago.

I’ve actually been this way since I had Joe,’ she said. ‘I still don’t believe in this craziness for being skinny, but I eat sensibly and I don’t stuff down chocolate biscuits.

I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home.’

I guess I have to admit I do care what people think. I hate people thinking I’m some pretentious fraud.’

Kate sounds off on the paparazzi enraging her.

They’ve become an entity to themselves,” she says. “But eventually they’ll implode. They’re creating a house of cards that will inevitably fall. These are not nice people. When you’re taking your child to school, and they’re trying to get on school property to get a picture, it literally makes you want to just smack them.”

She gets defensive at the suggestion that she lacks range,

I could be in an interview and people would keep going, ‘So why do you always do romantic comedies?’ Do I want to do darker roles? Of course. It has to be the right thing, though. I’m not just going to, like, make a movie that’s, Oh, she’s a whore, prostitute, and heroin addict.”
