Victoria Beckham Defends Zero Size

Yes and yes, zero-sized models have to be defended now as they are often ignored and called unhealthy. It has recently become rather difficult for thin girls to find a job as a model as the fashion indusrty clearly shifts to curvier beauties like Lara Stone and Crystal Renn.

Victoria Beckham feels it right to say a word for slim models as she is very slim herself. And she is naturally healthy, she claims.

The 35-year-old says it is unfair to critisize fashion designers for using thin models as catwalk queens should not be discriminated against because of their weight.

Speaking on U.S. daytime show ‘The View’ about the controvercy surrounding size zero models Posh said:

Most of these girls are naturally thin. And I don’t think we should be discriminating against someone because they are too thin or too curvy or too large or whatever it is.”

Victoria, whose fashion collection received good reviews when it premiered on February 14 during New York Fashion Week, said she was passionate about a more inclusive fashion industry.

She has decided to take part in a campaign by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) which is calling for the industry to be more responsible about choosing the models.

She commented:

The CFDA have reached out to designers, stylists and casting directors not to work with underage models, girls that are too thin and to be more ethnically aware. And I think designers are listening. I had a casting last week and had some terribly thin girls come in and it wouldn’t have worked.”
