You can have your opinion of what's attractive, but not of what's healthy. These women are overweight and borderline obese. Carrying this much weight comes with a huge set of health problems - not least of which is America's #1 killer, heart disease. No man with options would date a woman this fat (and liable to get fatter). Celebrating rolls of fat as "curves" sends a dangerous message. Shaming men for wanting healthy, in shape women is even worse.

reply to M.C.......>

BMI has been discredited MANY MANY TIMES! it is inaccurate and doesnt take all elements into account. According to BMI very fit athletes are borderline obese and also ( from my work experience) emaciated drug users that only eat once a day or less are ''within the perfect range of their BMI''!!! COME AGAIN!!

What is healthy? We tend to assume that people who are fat are unhealthy when someone who is skinny is just as likely to have diabetes but we don't point at them and say "UNHEALTHY!" That's because every time a disease was found researchers always blamed obesity, they're actually finding in recent studies that obesity might have nothing to do with it. Besides you're just saying they have to lose weight because they're not the models you're used to seeing, that's how the media has gotten to your brain. It is their job after all. Now that people are trying to change so people aren't obsessively starving themselves, you're bashing them, way to be on the media's side....
And I agree with Danielle!

The whole debate is silly. Some people don't like women with rolls, some people don't like women with boobs that are a certain size, some people don't like women who are too thin and some people don't like women who have too much butt, or hips, or too little butt or hips. So shut up. These women are published in magazines and you all sit in your homes on your computers critiquing them as if anyone gives a damn about your personal opinion. Beauty is and always has been subjective so if you think you can form some educated opinion about what beauty really is or who should be allowed to be photographed in a magazine, then you're an idiot, because no one can truly be "educated" in such an area. Opinions are opinions for a reason. Unless you know these girls personally, you've got not data to back up your hypothesis that these girls are "overweight". So please, do us all a favor and keep your mouth shut. Or don't. But only if you have a perfect life and a perfect body and ALWAYS eat the right things, never slipping into eating the bad things, and can get hired to look as good as these girls do. Ugh. Morons.

Wow. No wonder the world is in the state it is today. Those models are beautiful. "Plus size" means that they are larger than the so-called "ideal" proportions - that is a given, so who knows why people would expect these shots to look like photos out of Vogue. I don't know who people think they are to classify people as fat vs curvy vs unhealthy. I agree with Random - these ladies are proud of their bodies. I want all the children growing up now to see that beautiful doesn't mean rail thin, and I hope they refuse to buy into commercial ideals of beauty that are unattainable for most. Instill confidence - not shame!!!!!!!

That is supposed to be "curves"? That's fat rolls not curves... I think healthy weight is whatever weight you are (based on your frame and height) when you don't have extra fat. These models however have a lot of visible fat rolls. I don't see how it's supposed to be "healthy".
