Chanel Resort Collection 2010

Karl Lagerfeld has literally surpassed himself with the Resort collection 2010. Lots of wonderful and absolutely chic designs, extravagant styles and extreme shapes – all this is about the line you see at the pics below.

A cruise show was held in Venice, Italy, symbolizing the return to Coco Chanel times when she used to visit this city ten years in succession.

The show started when the sun was about to set, gentle waves were rolling in, and a whisper of a breeze made the guests relax. 350 people had been invited to the show and were reclining on sun beds in the famous white tented cabanas feeling obviously privileged to be watching the extreme glamour of the designer’s idea to remind the viewers about an important part of Coco Chanel’s biography.

The collection was called “Coco on the Lido”. It included plenty of outfits, much more than any other designer’s Resort range 2010.

Luxury evening gowns, fancy cocktail dresses, beautiful trouser and skirt suits, nice combinations for evening walks, beach wear, sweaters, cardigans, shorts and lots of other fabulous items.

The color palette was very rich: lots of red, burgundy, black, white, gold, grey and brown, many nice prints and stripes. Some models were trimmed with lace, embellished with stones and sequins thus creating a glamorous look.

The outfits were paired with unusual transparent booties, classic sandals, fringed shoes, lace peep-toe boots.

Massive jewelry remained in the trend according to Chanel and comes in bracelets, brooches, necklaces, huge rings.

Among other accessories finishing the looks were umbrellas, exquisite belts, sunglasses, bags (huge totes of unusual design, little purses, beautiful clutches).

Some of the apparels are strange and too extravagant, others look feminine and sexy.

The collection is fabulous and the majority of outfits look great. I do adore Karl Lagerfeld and his ability to feel what women like. In his clothes even unattractive woman will look brilliant!
