Christian Lacroix Autumn/Winter 2008/2009 collection
Lacroix is the undisputed master of the overstatement; a man who can always discover another place to add a bow, beaded embellishment, fringing and feathers. He’s a genius, and that’s what we love about him.
Christian Lacroix’s haute couture collection presented at Paris fashion week was an exciting mix of vibrant color, black lace masks, balloon-sized sleeves, and insect-inspired details, mixed with softer styles and some slight touch of military.

Ballgowns and cocktail dresses in silk faille and taffeta, came with huge, “Infanta” sleeves, which were jeweled at elbow and wrist or detailed with ostrich feathers at the décolletage.
Softer styles, in shadow-dyed silk chiffon, were draped, ruffled, swagged and swathed around shoulders and cleavag,e and fell in clouds of fabric, gathered in at hip or knee with be-jewelled bows.

The fall Autumn/Winter 2008/2009 collection is all about femininity in all meanings of the word. Bright colors, which are top fashion these upcoming seasons – orange, saffron, gold, lime, fuschia and cobalt, mixed with midnight blue, black, khaki, and pastels were all represented in his designs.
