Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2009-2010

Diane von Furstenberg is a highly talented designer and her new Resort 2010 collection has just proves that once again.

The Resort line was inspired by Brazil and “neighboring lands”. And the result is fun, feisty and very hot.

The dresses are short and sensual, some come with one shoulder, and are kept to a party palette of tropical hues: green, yellow, orange, azure, pink, red.

There are lots of polkadots, oversize prints, shimmying confetti paillettes and sequins. Micro patterns are also used in a large variety and look good!

Maxi- and mini-dresses, sheer tunics, seductive shorts and classy blouses, nice cardigans and clinging trousers are all what we see in the range. Besides, there is some swimwear too: one-piece and separates.

Accessory line is focused basically on a strange type of headgear – a kind of a bow coming in various colors and patterns. It reminds me of Louis Vuitton’s headpieces similar to bunny ears we saw for Fall-Winter 2009-2010. Looks interesting of course but is hardly wearable.

Handbags presented in the collection are also tropically colored and go well with apparels shown.

Jewelry is very limited and includes a few bracelets which are rather feminine and do not look massive as pieces from other designers’ collections.

Sandals the models wore were pretty ordinary, coming in gold and a combination of several colors.

The collection is attractive and has lots of things I do like. But since the very beginning of the runway show I had a feeling I saw similar pieces before. Now I know what these are – short one-shoulder dresses with gathers – just the same as in Christian Lacroix Spring 2009 collection.

De ja vu do you think or I could be right?
