Cmarchuska is a very youth, chic and lovely range from the former Wall Street day trader turned fashion designer Christine Marchuska. Most of her pieces are stylish yet versatile knit dresses and unisex scarves.
Anna dress
(available for sale April 6 on cmarchuska.com, tonic.com, ecosumo.com, Cow Jones Industrials (Chatham, NY) and A Stone’s Throw (Madison, WI)):
cmarchuska was inspired to design this loose and flowing tank silhouette shift dress by her eight-year-old niece, Anna. This cozy soft organic cotton dress updates a style that the designer hopes will bring back fond memories of a woman’s girlie youth.
All of her clothing is made domestically in New York City’s Garment District and all of the fabric used is 100% organic, sustainable or recycled and is sourced from Cannon Knitting Mill in Ontario.
Here it is how cmarchuska appeared:
“cmarchuska clothing and Marchuska tees went from a vision to a reality to solve our two main issues with sustainable clothing.
Christine dress
(currently available for sale on cmarchuska.com, tonic.com and ecosumo.com and The PILATES Room in Ithaca, NY) The designer’s namesake, this little number is what Marchuska dubs “the perfect sophisticated solution” to the eternal office-to-outing dilemma. This A-line, button dress fashioned with an organic cotton modal fabric and recycled Italian polyester buttons is recommended to wear with your favorite dress pants or skinny jeans.
(1) The current available eco-friendly clothing was not fashionable. Let’s face it, the “green” clothing out there is a better fit for your rainy indoor days or oversized pajama collections, not something that you could wear out. We make clothes that have a high fashion cut that can carry you through a casual day or a night on the town. We want you to have comfort, but with a flattering fit.
Lindsey dress
(currently available for sale on tonic.com, ecosumo.com and Kaight (New York, NY)):
A tribute to designer Christine Marchuska’s friend Lindsey Bagg who loves a pretty party dress, this organic cotton and modal blend piece features a mock neck, fitted bodice and flared skirt.
(2) The second issue is excessive prices for anything categorized as fashionable these days. We all want to look good, but in this economy everyone is trying to save wherever possible. We got tired of having limited options when it came to finding sustainable clothing that was both fashionable, but wouldn’t break the bank. So we did our research and came up with cmarchuska clothing and Marchuska tees. We are and always will be a work-in-progress and appreciate your feedback. We strive to get you the best fabrics, which not only look and feel good on you, but also help sustain our environment.”
Kiva t
(currently available for sale on cmarchuska.com, tonic.com and ecosumo.com and A Stone’s Throw (Madison, WI)):
cmarchuska is redefining the way we look at eco-fashion with organic constructions like this kiva t, an organic cotton, form fitting silhouette inspired by Christine Marchuska’s best friend, Kiva, who is often found wearing the perfect cut v-neck.
M series t dress
(available for sale April 6 on cmarchuska.com, tonic.com, ecosumo.com, Cow Jones Industrials (Chatham, NY)) A twist on the original design of the cmarchuska m series t, this sustainable wardrobe staple is constructed of 100% organic cotton with fitted short sleeves and epaulettes extending from the collar.
Christine Marchuska’s line is sold at Kaight NYC (Manhattan), A Stone’s Throw (Madison, WI), Cow Jones Industrial (Chatham, NY), the PILATES Room (Ithaca, NY) and m.y. boutique (Binghamton, NY) as well as at seasonal trunk shows at Equinox boutiques in NYC and Los Angeles and private trunk shows by appointment.
It is sold on the web at www.cmarchuska.com, www.ecosumo.com and www.tonic.com.
