The ability to choose and combine clothes has always been valued high. It you are dressed tastelessly no fashionable and expensive label can save you from being called vulgar and inelegant.

Here we are going to consider some fashion errors most often made by people when selecting garments for various occasions.

Color mistakes

• Too many colors at the same time

When choosing clothes try to combine no more than three tones.

Besides, one hue should be neutral: black, white or some white tones (beige, milky, pale-grey). If you use more colors than that people could say you look like a clown. However, any rule has exceptions: colorful accessories will look great with a monotone dress.

• Too much of black

You may merge in a crowd that is not good for a real woman. Some bright accessories can help you to freshen up the look: a bright hat, a bag or gloves.

Or you may want to select a blouse of a contrast color.

• Extraterrestrial acidic colors for everyday outfits

I can hardly imagine a situation appropriate for wearing clothes of wildly bright lettuce green, yellow, orange or pink tints.

If only you are a road worker and need to be noticed from far away. Prefer more restrained hues for everyday wear.

But in case you want to go out with your friends, acid colors may seem interesting.

Mistakes in accessorizing

• Wrong hat

If you decide to purchase a hat, be ready to consider the fact that classic hats look terrible with anoraks. A raincoat or a cloak will be a good choice. To match your anorak, try a bright knitted cap.

• No accessories

Ability to wear accessories is an art; ability to choose accessories is a talent! If you wear a little black dress a pearl necklace will look feminine and tender, a massive pendant made of plastic will look extravagant and vanguard.

Your accessories make your mood and style.

If something is appropriate in this situation this doesn’t automatically mean it is as appropriate in quite another situation. But refusal to wear accessories is a big mistake.

• Price inconsistency

Signing a contract, adding a few ideas to the notebook or writing down a new admirer’s telephone number are different situations and to feel comfortable in all of them you need to wear different garments and have different accessories.

For personal use a pink coquettish pen is right, for work choose something cheap and ordinary but for signing contracts opt for an expensive pen.

It will add to your trustworthiness and presentable look.

Mistakes in style combination

• Business clothes + trainers

A business woman image conveys not only a behavior style but a certain dress code as well. Thus, wearing a suit with trainers is not a good idea. It is not appropriate, does not look beautiful and deserves no comments.

Try to find more appropriate combinations. A suit should be worn with classic shoes.

• Bright childish bag for a woman

If you carry your kid’s bag it is a normal thing.

But for personal wearing you better avoid that. Too bright and childish accessories will look good at a picnic, at the beach, but everyday garments require something more serious.

• Extreme experiments with style

Eclecticism – is a combination of garments of various styles. It is nice if you have always opted extravagant clothes and unpredictable looks.

But if you used to wear rather modest and strict outfits and now want to change your style, to freshen it up, my advice is to ask your close people’s opinion before you appear in public wearing something that can frighten off everyone around from you.

• Style inappropriateness

As fashion never stops developing we come across with more and more new styles. They are all great and can be preferred by some people, of course, but not everything is really appropriate.

Making others feel doubtful about your taste is not difficult but then making them believe you have a flawless taste will become a rather complicated thing.

• Sporty clothes at negotiations

Any important and responsible meeting requires high level of concentration, active work and clear understanding of what you are doing.

So, can you imagine what everybody would talk about if you turn up wearing sporty garments? It may sound pitiful but no work would be possible until your appearance is discussed in details.

Be careful about choosing clothes as they are the first thing people see and judge about us. If you look perfect it is half the deal and you can hope for success.

But if you are wearing something extremely inappropriate the whole meeting can be spoilt.
