House dress: fashionable or not?

Many people think that house dress should be comfortable and nothing else is important.

We spent at home lots of time and majority of us prefer wearing baggy dressing gowns or old jeans and T-shirts. But is that really what we want?

Can house dress be as beautiful as it is comfortable?

Ideally a house dress should look good, so that you don’t feel shameful if someone comes to visit you at an hour you don’t really expect to see anybody.

Many women think that as no one sees them at home they can feel free to wear shabby jeans and a stretched top. However, there are others who consider that at home one should lоok as stylish as she would if she was going to have a dinner party.

Both of the variants are extreme but one can find a happy medium and find clothing that is both comfortable and stylish.

Dressing gowns which cause so many arguments are mostly those which don’t make the woman look good. But still there are designs that are great. These come in nice fabrics and beautiful patterns.

Another variant of house dress is a tracksuit that commonly includes comfy pants and tops. Most of those are made so well that they can be quite good for house wear. You can choose the design, material and of course the texture of the tracksuit that you like best. Such clothing will be comfortable and appropriate even for walks and visits to a nearby store.

Modern women often opt for pyjamas which come in plenty of various models nowadays.

Pyjama is usually a set of clothing including pants and a jacket, shorts and a top, breeches and and a T-shirt. There are designs which accentuate the curves, and those which tend to hide problem areas.
And pyjamas don’t always look like sleepwear. Designers do adorn pyjamas with embroidery, sequins, nice prints, etc. This makes them good for house wear and welcoming unexpected guests as well.

If neither of the variants mentioned above seem attractive to you visit a store that offers lots of other garments which can be good for you to wear at home. But remember that good house dress doesn’t hinder your movements and feels good for the body.

It shouldn’t hamper if you want to do some housework or just relax in the armchair. To add to this, house dress doesn’t necessarily look simple. The garments for house wear can come from designer collections too but they can’t be too bright or catchy.
Footwear is also important. What one should wear at home: slippers or nothing? Walking barefooted is not a good idea but slippers are not always comfortable enough. You can opt for stylish sneakers on thin soles or flat shoes which are now so popular.
House shoes should be comfortable, that’s why heels of leather are not the best for the purpose. You better choose for shoes made of fabric that allows air to penetrate.

These can be with laces, velcro fasteners or elastic bands. If you spend much time on the sofa footwear that goes off easily is a good option. In case you prefer moving around a lot sneakers are the best.
