Issa Launches Kids Collection

I’m really weak for kids. Although I don’t have any, I love children very much. And this explains why I just can’t pass by a cute kids collection that Issa is planning to launch soon. Aptly named Baby Issa the range looks very sweet.

Daniella Issa Helayal, the founder and director of Issa, has designed an uber-chic collection of garments for kids (ages 0-12) that includes ‘tea dresses, summer party frocks, trench coats, swimwear and shorts in cotton and voile for girls, and funky-print shorts for boys’.

Daniella says her decision to create Baby Issa wasn’t sudden. For lots of time her friends pestered her with requests to dress their beloved little ones into something beautiful. And finally she gave in. What she got in the result was a collection that was light, colorful and allowed for plenty of “freedom of movement.”

The Brazilian-born designer says:

My friends are always asking me to make miniature versions of my dresses for their children. As a Brazilian, my favorite time of year is summer, so it made perfect sense to develop a baby line with the first summer collection based on the sensibilities I usually bring to the main Issa line.”

She also adds that the kids collection will be very typical to Issa:

The collection is very much in-keeping with Issa’s DNA; dresses which are comfortable, luxurious, fun and suitable for every occasion. Baby Issa reflects the innocence and joy of children themselves, at a tea party, playing in the park or dressing up for a special occasion. The pieces are pretty, colourful and allow freedom of movement essential for every child.”

The pieces in the collection won’t be cheap though. You will have to pay up to $150 for a dress. If you are still intersted, wait for the range to come out in November. Items will be available at BabyIssa.com (which is not live yet) and Issa stores. As a pleasant bonus for your kids, every item you purchase will come with a printed fabric Issa hanger.
