Jay Z sued over ad campaign slogan
Clothing company I Will Not Lose, LLC filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against rapper and producer Jay Z over a slogan used in his 2007 Rocawear ad campaign.
According to I Will Not Lose, LLC CEO Reggie Tucker, the Rocawear spokespersons like Chris Brown and Ciara used the company’s slogan “I will not lose” during the Rocawear campaign launched last year.
The campaign used the slogan without permission, he added.
According to the source, Jay-Z sold the rights to his Rocawear fashion firm to Iconix Brand Group in March 2007, but is believed to still oversee the product development, licensing, and marketing.
