Mara Hoffman’s Fall 2009 Collection

We have reported already that New York Fashion Week started on the 13th of February and some great designers have unveiled their collections telling us this way what is going to be in vogue this fall.

Mara Hoffman was one of the couturiers to give us visual instructions about fashion for the next season.

She is one of my favorite designers and this time she was able to surprise me again. Her fall 2009 collection was really chic and sophisticated.

Luxurious materials, nice prints, rich embellishments and original style were combined in one line.

Sounds interesting, isn’t it? And it’s worth looking at!!!

Wool, silk, chiffon, jersey, satin were widely used to create the designs. Extraordinary prints that remind us of wild nature along with metallic details can never remain unnoticed by fashionistas.

The collection is pretty diverse. One could see long floor sweeping gowns of various colors, more like sunfrocks all girls love wearing in summer, long stylish classy cardigans or short hooded ones, fabulous tunics of unusual coloring paired with leggings of different hues, short folk-inspired dresses and even shawl-like attires.

Herring-bone opaque tights, multicolored, stripy or polka dot leggings that go with classic suede shoes create a completely new image of a modern woman.

What I like about this collection the most is that classics is mixed with modernity and folk motives. Something that seems to be impossible to combine come in Mara Hoffman’s creations and looks fantastic!

Much attention is given to accessories. There are all kinds of chains and other hanging accessories that I’m sure have no exact name yet.

They start from earrings and hang down as necklaces. Nothing huge or massive, just nice beautiful adornments. They are seen on nearly every model rocking Hoffman’s garbs.

I love this collection and think that I’m not the only one who will spend her money for a piece or two from the line!
