Colors play an important role in our life. Depending on the occasion we choose to wear a garment of dark serious hue or bright lively one.
With the help of colors we can create the most sophisticated or the worst ever look. Season after season color palette that is in vogue changes and to be on modern lines we need to know which hues are popular and which have lost its significance already.
Here I’ll tell you about the trendiest tints and patterns for spring 2009.
Yellow shadows
Many designers have chosen yellow and all yellow tints imaginable for their men’s collections. As for me I do not understand why men should give preference to yellowy hues in spring, the season when everything becomes bright and dynamic.
Though despite all this, many collections - including the ones by Prada, Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen and others - are based on this color, some of them look nice, some dull.
Choose the one you like best.
Flesh tones
Alexander McQueen, Jill Sanders, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry Prorsum and others used plenty of flesh tones in their lines. The models look very elegant and office-like.
If you like restrained colors this trend is for you, no abundant décor or details, just pure sophistication.
White color
White is represented mostly in Calvin Klein’s collection. It’s nice and chic. The models in white are very different in style: from evening suits to ordinary T-shirts and shorts.
The color looks exceptionally well but it is for very neat men only.
Vivid hues
If you want to look bright and lively you must choose vivid colors: fuchsia, orange, electric blue, purple, etc.
You don’t need to wear one solid color - experiment with hues, combine them and create the most unpredictable images! Don’t be afraid to surprise others.
But at the same time, don’t overdo, especially if you are not ready to be in the centre of attention.
Gradient colors
If you like to stand out of the crowd you should prefer the models of gradient colors.
They look unusual and play with your visual perception allowing you to create a leaner, taller look or vice versa helps you to look a bit shorter if you need that.
Look at collections by Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Raf Simons, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc.
Stripes
Stripes are presented widely in Paul Smith, Phillip Lim, Emporia Armani, Junya Wattanabe’s lines. The designs by these couturiers look very special, I would say even extraordinary.
Mostly these are wide stripes which create really interesting images.
Garments from Missoni, Armani, Versace and Valentino, on the contrary, look very elegant with their thin stripes. Pure sophistication and chic.
Sheer fabrics
Sheer fabrics. If you have a beautiful chest why not show it through a sheer shirt? It looks hot and sexy.
Or you may probably want to add a bit of glamour to your look by putting a sheer jacket or something of this style on. Just use your imagination and create your own look, different from others.
Micro pattern
Micro pattern was often seen on shirts, trousers, jackets, even bathrobes at the catwalk. It surely looks interesting, a bit mysterious and classy.
Print jackets by Dolce and Gabbana and Alexander McQueen at first seemed to me too pretentious and even cartoon-like, but when I took a closer look I understood that they look really original, very uncommon and dressy.
You can wear one for an evening out and to office too. Nice idea, isn’t it?
That is all about colors and tints. Stay with us to know about men trends for spring. Good luck!
