If you want classics look for Versace or Roberto Cavalli’s collections. For extravagancy go for Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s work. In case you wish consistency Blumarine is the best choice for Autumn/Winter 2009-2010.
But before I start speaking about the line itself I’d like to say that the runway show was pretty unusual this year as Anna Molinary decided to create a special atmosphere to present her range of clothes.
The models were walking with the desiner’s own portraits on the background! At first I thought it was a bit tasteless but as the show began I realized it was a great idea! It was entertaining and well-done at the same time.
The collection was very consistent as I’ve already said. Sometimes we see lines full of items which are not related to each other in any way.
This collection was very different from that. Each item had some special place and purpose.
Technicolor leopard prints and leather motorcycle jackets were among favorites in the line.
Extravagant mini dresses in classic Warhol blue, yellow and pink were fantastic and added some kind of art installation quality to Molinari’s already artistic fall collection.
I liked the combination of pieces and the mix of colors!
Leopard prints were presented in plenty of variations: short mini dresses, flared skirts, jackets, suits, coats and even shoes and bags! The designs were made in diversity of styles: classy and elegant, casual and comfortable, great prom-like dresses, sophisticated evening gowns, etc.
Nearly every attire was lavishly accessorized with massive rhinestone jewelry that gave additional chic to the whole view. Rhinestones were in jewelry and on bags, shoes and closing.
One of the greatest looks, in my opinion, was the one with extremely short denim shorts, a top embellished with the precious stones, black classic jacket and a small bag adorned with the rhinestones as well. Fantastic!
Blumarine’s Fall 2009 collection is full of life and sensuality, it is perfect for wear and looks great.
