Last season I blasted Marc Jacobs for designing a really boring greyish collection. But for Spring/ Summer 2011 I think I can glorify the designer for using vibrant hues and bold accessories. The collection presented at New York Fashion Week was a huge success.
Walking to the accompaniment of Vivaldi models, including Alessandra Ambrosio, Freja Beha Erichssen, Jourdan Dunn and Jamie Bochert, were wearing colorful outfits, golden platform shoes, elaborate belts in shape of flowers, vibrant bags and cute headpieces also in the form of flowers. Flowers were everywhere in Marc Jacobs’s collection: from prints on outfits to jewelry.

Apparently inspired by the 70s and creations of Antonio Lopez, Yves Saint Laurent, Missoni and Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs’ Spring/ Summer 2011 range looked interesting. However, some garments seemed to me too overwhelming. Frizzy hair and dramatic makeup complemented the garments perfectly.
