New York Fashion Week sketches Spring 2009

New York’s Fashion Week will present its Spring 2009 collections starting next Friday. To keep you thrilled and excited here are some sketches from Marc Bouwer, Rubin Singer and Maticevski collections.

Marc Bouwer‘s collection “Goddesses by a Pool” was inspired by powerful femininity of 1970s. This will be an elegant retro but futuristic collection in bright, poppy colors.

Rubin Singer will present “Anchors Awei.” His spring looks were inspired by exotic destinations, the 1940s, and rugged, angular forms of marine vessels.

My main inspiration for the collection came from a book called, Inventive Paris Clothes 1909-1939′ with photos by Irving Penn and Text by Diana Vreeland…,” explains Maticevski. “Restrained opulence – rich, luxurious, exotic and intoxicating.”
